It appears to be green turf algae. It is not GHA or bryopsis. It grows in thick dense mats but is easy to pick off from rocks. I do this every few days to stop it building up too much but would prefer to reduce its growth.
I do much prefer this to cyano or GHA or Bryopsis as it has minimal...

Hi G, I have a quick question. If nutrients are low, almost undetectable, but sone algae still grows, should I increase the Zeostart 3 dose slightly to help combat the algae? My current dose is just below 50%.
or maybe stop trace elements for a period?...

It is nice to know it is of interest to people. It also helps me to keep track of what i am doing.
The goby has been very well behaved since i got it. Defends himself well but not aggressive to other tank mates. He feeds well and very rarely takes sand up high. I believe blue cheek gobies...

I must admit it, i have a coral buying issue. I've known it all along but have been in denial. I have no space, but i squeeze more in. Just one more. This will be the last one and then im done. Pah. Its time to just accept it.
The Duncan coral was one of my first, given to me by my dad...

Even though i said a week ago i wasnt going to play with the spectrum, i had a few trials anyway. i tried 2x aquablue special instead of my 1x abs and 1x purple. It was a little too white. I tried 5x blue plus, 2x coral plus and 1x purple plus. Too blue. I tried 4 blue plus, 3 coral plus and 1 purple....

My most hated maintenance task but also the most rewarding once done, cleaning 4x Nero 5
It was a bit unplanned but 1 of the started freezing randomly so gave it a clean. Figured I might as well do them all.
It didn’t full solve the issue unfortunately so if it continues I may have...

Alk - 8
Calcium - 440
Magnesium - 1320
I have turned down my calcium dosing to allow the level to gradually fall to around 420.
I have also left my filter socks out as an experiment to see what it does to the PE of corals and...

Thank you. I have many Kz products but not extra.
what would you say is the impact extra has on your tank?
i will be adding in another Kz product in the next 2 weeks so may consider trying xtra instead of vitalizer or aminos.

Natural Acropora Growth Patterns
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to ensure Acropora grown in a more natural form/shape.
I believe flow has a part to play but are there other factors that need to be considered.
My attraction to Acropora is not just the colours but the growth forms and patterns and if possible...

Thanks.
I have now reached the target dose for the Tropic Marin trace elements so will keep the dosage here for a few weeks and monitor changes to corals growth and colouration during this time. 1ml a day of each is half the suggested dose but should be sufficient to notice any changes...
