  • Tae Jin's reef tank record(2nd 100G)

    Hello😁
My name is Tae Jin, and I live in Korea, and my English is not good enough, but I look forward to your kind cooperation.
I am active in Korea reef club, and I am still lacking a lot of skills, so I want to improve my skills in Zeovit Forum.
It hasn't been long since I ran a full zeovit system.
I've been decorating my house and now I'm running my second Zeovit tank, and my first post is sharing my first Zeovit tank.

I can't upload the picture on my phone.I'm leaving a link to my 1st tank video as soon as possible.

      Welcome to ZeoVit.com

Thank you for sharing, very beautiful coral reefs.

Regarding the second tank, Please share some more information about your system by answering the questions from this thread, just copy and paste them to your thread and post the answers:

      https://forum.zeovit.com/forum/gener...bout-your-tank

Sorry, I don't know why the link I gave can't be displayed, let me post the content.

      Tell us about your tank.

Please give us answers to the following questions in order to get more accurate dosing recommendations.

      1. Gross water volume of your complete system (incl. sump etc.) - US gallons / UK gallons / liter
      2. Net water volume (incl. sump etc.) - US gallons / UK gallons / liter
      3. Are you using a CaCO2 reactor or other technique
      4. Are you using a PO4 reactor (how long, how long ago, etc.)
      5. Are you using Ozone
      6. Are you using UV
      7. What skimmer are you using (type, rated water volume)
      8. What are your actual PO4 and NO3 levels
      9. What are your actual Ca, Alk and Mg levels
      10. What filtration method do you use (refugium, DSB, Miracle Mud, etc.)
      11. Type of light (Watt, color temp, how old, etc.)
      12. What corals do you keep
      13. Tissue color (light or dark)
      14. How long has the tank been running
      15. Why do you want to use the ZEOvit system
      16. Any supplemental dosing (type, amount, why, etc.)
      17. Live rock (how much, how old, etc.)
      18. Any present problems
      19. Problem description (tissue loss tips, tissue loss base, diatom bloom, algae, etc.)
      20. What test kit do you use (how old, recently switched, etc.)
      21. Present dosing, amounts and intervals (ZEOvit, ZEObak, ZEOfood, ZEOstart, ZEOspur2, etc.)
      22. Other water parameters and water stability (salinity, temp, etc.)
      23. Which salt brand do you use

I know there are a lot of questions. Please be as detailed (and honest) as possible and feel free to elaborate on anything else you think may be important.

If you are satisfied with your first tank (using the ZeoVit system), if there is a chance, I hope you can recommend the ZeoVit system to more people, so that more people like to use ZeoVit products, ZeoVit helps corals grow healthily and have more colors colorful.

Dry rock, it takes a long time for the system to stabilize.

Ozone is not compatible with the ZeoVit system, it is good to remove it slowly. Kalkwasser binds PO4 in water bodies, a compound that accumulates in places such as sand and rocks. Under various conditions, PO4 can be leached back into the water column, and algae can also absorb PO4 directly from the substrate. Typical of such systems is undetectable PO4 in water bodies where several species of algae grow well.

Kalkwasser will not have a direct effect on the system or its components, I recommend using the highest grade booster to increase the element, make sure there are no extra elements.

Zeolite material and Zeo activated carbon are also listed as the core of the basic product. Without using zeolite material, this cannot be more perfect in terms of biology and nutrition.

Regarding the system-the amount of zeolite is 0.8 liters, and the amount of activated carbon is 0.3 liters (mesh bag passive flight).

It is recommended to get Zeo SpongePower 3 drops every other day, temporarily stop Zeo Food, it can be used later.

The base water parameters look weird, let's make sure the salinity is correct and gradually adjust to NSW levels.
              Kh 6.5-7.5
              Ca 400-420
              Mg1250-1300
              K+~380g

                Additional to Jackies recommendations,

s you mention that coral tissue is a little bit dark while nutrients are solid low you can try to cut down the dosage of ZeoFood, XTra, CoralBooster, and AAHC to 50%. This should slowly have the effect of lighter tissue.

I would also recommend to stop dosing Phyto Feast or reduce the quantity to 1/3 as it might be the reason for the darker tissue also.

                  Dear. Jacky.
                  Thank you for your interest
                  I use zeolite of course.
But I don't think I wrote it down

The flow rate is 230L/H in 600ML volume.
In addition, there is activated carbon by using an ozone reactor.

The last tank used ozone, but it wasn't 24/7, so the Zeovit system worked enough.

                  Dear G. Alexander
While repairing the house, I entrusted the coral in the previous tank to a huge nutrient tank, so I think it would be good experience to keep the schedule even if it's a little dark now.
                  What do you think?

We plan to slowly strengthen the output element in the current schedule.

For a 320-liter net water volume system, the zeolite material should be 0.8 liters, and the 600ml material seems to be a little less. The reactor flow rate is 320 liters, and the 230H/L flow rate is too low. ZEO is a bacterial system, it is not necessary to use ozone, make sure it is off 2hr before dosing. The picture is very blue, as G. said, reducing nutrient supplementation makes the coral tissue expand and become lighter.

It is recommended to use SpongePower which has a positive effect on biological side. The base water parameters are inlined at the NSW level, which is important for coral vitality/health.

Thank you for the good tip
The zeolite replacement time is approaching soon, so I will proceed with the flow rate and the amount of zeolite you told me.
                        and SP is Sponge power.

Hello Tae, corals are looking healthy and good, there is no need to change the dosing regimen at the moment just in case you like to get the tissue lighter.

With SP Jacky is refering to SpongePower.

                            I have a question.
                            The Zeovit system recommends T5,
Is there a number that recommends the color temperature of light (K)?

The spectrum should not be to blue from my experience to get a natural look of coral coloration. 14k mixed with blue and a purple T5 is what I would recommend.

Can you tell how many T5 your fixtures has or do you run the system with just LEDs ?
