  • Hello Wesley, for a net water volume of 2500 liters usually 6.25 liters ZeoVit should be used. Your plan to start with 4 liters sounds good, flow in this case should be ~1600 liters per hour.

Cleaning the material daily regular is necessary and important to process nutrients effective. I am not sure if this is possible with your media reactor, if not I would try to get a second reactor or you can alternative easy build a DIY reactor as it is really not complicated.

Here is a older thread but you might get some ideas from it:

      thanks G,

i hope i can come in touch with korallenzucht so i can order the zeovit reactor L it seems that this reactor is big enough.

the water volume is that complete water volume or only tank water.

      main tank volume1766L
      dreambox(sump) volume 276L
      fragtank volume 140L

      total volume: 2182L

      kind regards

      wesley

      • Hello Wesley, two smaller reactors might be the better choice because if the pump fails and you do not notice it immediately the second reactor will still run.

Because of the reduced total net water volume 5.5 liters would be the right amount with a reactor flow of ~ 2200 liters per hour.

To be save I would start with 50% of the quantity and flow.

          Hi,

          thanks for your advice.
Almost all is in to start. Only waiting om the zeoreactor.

          can’t wait,
i gonna use an royal exclusiv pump with flow sensor from ghl
to ensure the pump is running.

          kind regards,

          wesley

                  • Hello Wesley, basically it is possible but I think you will not really need it. If you like to give it a try you can install it, if you notice algae stop growing after some time because of no available nutrients it might be time to remove the algae before they start to die off.

Some kind of algae are doing very well in nutrient poor environment however their growth is usually much slower than normal.

                            hi,

                            maby stupid question.

i was checking the reactor flow.
                            so 2,8L per 10 sec.
                            so i do
                            x 6 so it is p/min
                            x60 so it is p/h

                            thanks.

                            • Hello Wesley, this would be:

                              2.8 liters per 10 seconds: 2.8 * 6 = 16.8 liters per minute
                              16.8 liters per minute * 60 minutes = 1008 liters per hour

Yes that is what i was thinking.

is the kz reactor ok for 2200L waterline is allready on top of the reactor.

                                thanks,
