doesnot matter what i do always have a bright spot in the center suprisingly even with no flash, well i know the part that tank is bowfront doesnot help, but what can i do to correct this problem,we have 2 cams nikon 3200 & 5200 ,i have tried every different setting on the cameras getting pictures from diffenet angel, with or without flash,i am also getting a tri pod this week, any tricks to take pics from bow fronts?
the tank is 4' long & 1100 w of light on it,the hood is usually 4" on the top of the water level, however some of these pics were taken with the hood allthe way down ,any recomandations boys?

It's cause you have the white sand reflecting the white light back up.

Thank looks really great. I wouldn't worry about the photos.

It's impossible to get a decent full tank shot, cause we want to see all the great colors and details.

The bigger the tanks, it gets even harder to take a photo which does the tank justice.

You're doing just fine. I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe you can see it more in larger pics but these look great.

I would guess that because it's bow front the light is being reflected internally (internal refraction) around the part where it bows, thus creating that spot.

Have you tried to take the picture off center a little bit. Move 3' over to the left or the right? Might even make it worse, I don't know but that's something you can try. Other than that, keep up the good work.

thanx for the kind words, ouinla i have tried to take pics on an angle this one was taken @ an aproximate 30 degree from center, but still there is the spot though minimal ,the one thing that i learned from this experience,NO MORE BOWS ,this was the first tank i ever set up 2 years ago & the bowfront looked very good empty, but i guess you learn as you go

thanx nick, tank is almost 2 years old, majority of stuff has been grown from frags, aquaculture colonies or mini coloies, for the past 6months i have not done much fraging,i just let the nature take its course ,but i think i have to remove a couple of things out they have outgrown my tank, this tank will be brought down early summer ,i am building my own house(thats what i do)& planning a 900 gal display with total volume of 4000 gal now the plans been drawn, its all gonna be custom made,i am getting quiet a few pieces made to my specifications mainly comming from germany
(not cheap ,but its only a one time expense if you buy good stuff i always believed)my family is from koeln so i visit quiet often ,that makes it easier to see all the new goodies comming out ,every time i go back &there is definately an aquarium day in there,so i am excited ,but sad to have to bring this tank down i have not been posting alot of pix from it anywhere either thats why i am gonna try to take alot of pix in the next few months hopefuly some with mesoscope

Hi Reeftec, it's unusual to see a really good acro tank with what appears to be a DSB, so I posted a few pics of it in my own countries forum, it has generated quite a lot of interest here's the link to the thread http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/1-v...er=asc&start=0

As you are now famous in New Zealand , please feel very welcome to log on to our forum and tell us a bit about your tank, I know it will be appreciated.

Thnx. Alastair for your link. FWIW, I maintained a DSB/plenum filtration in my old reef tank for 11 yrs. w/o a "crash" The trick was to stir/blast/siphon detritus weekly, while not disturbing the plenumBob

Yes funny how this debate seems to have resurfaced in my country

After zeovit, it is Laytons other obsession.

However it will all simmer down once reeftec joins the thread and give them something more interesting to do than arguing
