  • Looking for bigger colony pic

Im curious to know what this coral looks like as a colony.. I recently acquired it as it was dying and I heard it grows fast. Does anyone have a big colony picture of this?

        Seriatopora calendrium

Low light will increase green color High flow will make it grow very compact!
Normally fast grower this is a colony from a 2 inch frag less than a year old. Frag came from Tanu.

        This one is mine

When placed in high lit conditions, the colours will lighten up more. When placed in low lit conditions, the colour will be more brownish/goldish. The colony of Danny is a frag of my green S. caliendrum. Marineaquarium bought a brown colony from my tank about 1-2 years ago. Medium light is fine for these corals, but more light won't give any problems either. Indeed it can be a real fast grower!

IME these corals are one of the hardiest sps ever. I've even kept a frag in my nano under 11 W PC. It didn't grow fast, but it did grow!

                      Hi Invincible,

It seems a seriatopora caliendrum frag, i have a 18cm diameter colony and in my tank is a very fast growing coral. Doesn't need a grate amount of light, i keep it at over 20cm under the surface (2x 250W) and the frags grow also at the bottom on the sand (58cm under the surface).
For my experience is quite easy, but i know that someone have unknown and unsolvable problems with seriatopora and pocillopora and for them there is no way to keep it.

                      Bye
                      Andrea

Hi Andrea, Stylo, Pocci & Seratioporas are K+ sensitive, which may be decient in some saltmixes--try K-Balance from K-Z when/if you try these corals in the future, Bob
