    Hi,

Check this tank out. Only with T5 lamps.

This tank stands in Belgium. The owner is Yvan Dedier. I beleive it is one of the top 5 tanks there.

    For more pictures check out,

Thnx. Ron, there's no doubt that even SPS color well under just T5's--very impressive. Do you know if many Belgians[sp?] use ZEOvit? Bob

      Hi Bob,

As far as i know, there are no Zeovit users in Belgium. In Holland almost the same.
My friend Danny (member here) is using ZEOvit and he is the only i know using!

      Greetings,

      Ron.

Man that tank is bad azz! I abosolutely love t5 lighting, I might end up replacing my 2 250w mh;s on my prop tank with t5's! Less heat, and just cooler =P...I am just worried that the sps frags wont fair well under them.

There's more to sps than ultra high wattage lighting as zeovit goes to show.

"Wij troffen een prachtaquarium aan. De T5 lampen zijn van ATI en Yvan gebruikt lampen waarvan men zegt dat deze speciaal voor de aquaristiek zijn ontwikkeld. Hij wisselt wit met blauw af. De aquablue en de aquablue spezial."

SO he uses ATI aquablue / ab spezial bulbs, but does anyone know what brand lamp? Also ATI?

              Hi,

The brand is ATI. The specialty about it that there is a patent on the mixture of gas in the tubes. The mixture is 50/50% blue and white.
My opinion is that you need a lot of tubes to get enough lighting. Bernd Mohr and Yvan Dedier do have quit a number of tubes above the aquarium.

Also a great choice are the T5 from D.D aquariumsolutions. This tubes contains a mixture of 60 white and 40 blue. The aquarium dont look that blue under these tubes.

                      Hi,

Yes, they come from the same factory. Pritzel from ATI has a patent on a line of tubes with a mixture of 50/50. D and D has the 60/40 mix. 60% on the white part.

                      Greetings,

We haven't been able to get ATI branded tubes in the US as of late. Only the D&D. Personally haven't tried the D&D aquablue, am using the sun and blue plus on my office tank. I like that combo.

Also for T5 fans, URI claims that they will soon have a T5 version of their superactinic that they feel actually surpasses the VHO version.

Wow Chuck.. do you have any more info on this? Release date? If URI does produce, then Im sure it will be a big hit! Especially now since T5 availibility in the U.S. is limited.

I saw those for the longest time, but havent seen anyone use them. I would like to know how they compare as well.
