  • David Saxby's AQ (pic), update?

Anyone know if this picture is current of David Saxby's tank? Its been a while since we all have seen his nice tank especially those that came from Dustin Dorton's visit.

Thanks Ron! Those are great pics! When were those pics taken? And how was the tank in person?

                  Hi,

I,ve take the pictures about three weeks ago. I now have seen the tank several times and it always the same. Just AWESOME.

The tank has had a problem last march and that lasted for a month. David thinks the problem were caused by a bad batch of salt. Now the tank looks greater than ever!

There is a great green Acro high placed in the tank and it has been there for about 5 or six years now. It reached an impressive size of more than 110 cm across!

There is a lot to tell. Due to the given space the corals and other specimens can reach huge sizes. There is some much to see, more than 250 fish and so on, that you need some time to look it over.

David recent replaced his giesemanns who had just 1 bulb inside for the new ones. Two bulbs each.
I dont have the notes directly in front of me, but near 6000 watt of light is hanging there.

He needs the HQI to overcome the hight of the tank. He believes also in T5, but his tank is too high.

anyway, to answer the question. Its great to see the tank in person. Just to take a seat and look, and look again, and again,......

                  Greetings,

In this tank, Saxbi uses ROWAphos

                          You understand? :druggie:

                            Hi,

I have pictures of all the equipment. Most of it is placed in a cellar just 15 meters or more away of his tank. I will post a picture where you can see 1 of the three huge Deltec skimmers. Driven by four pumps each!

Rowaphos is used from the first day of the actual set up. Now seven years ago. The fluidised reactor ia also very big with aprox 3 kg in it.

                            Greetings

                            Ron.

(this year i make an article of ten pages of his tank for a magazine. I,m gonna try to translate it in English. Its not easy fot me, but i,ll try)

                              3 skimmers? wow!

I bet feeding that tank also costs an arm and a leg.
