OK here are some pics of my 75 gallon aquarium and corals in it, 125gallon's elegance and clown tang, and some pics of the florida keys, and the holding tank with live stock in it that I collected (I am under 18 so I dont need a fishing liscens).

    here it is!

First is a pic of my elegance coral and clown tang. (both considered expert species...both thriving)

i really hope you did not put that clown tang in your 75 or even your 130 they need a huge tank to be happy. atleast a 6 footer when small then bigger when they grow like 8-10 feet.

it will become agressive and most likely not make it, its best to research before you buy......

its in the 130, man. I have had it for 4 months bought in february 05, it will make it. it is 2" long, and FAT. I mean it is one of the fattest tangs and it is really healthy. I really do think that the 130 is big enough...the dimentions are 6 feet long, 18" wide and somewhere around 25" tall (not exact but close).

I dont have very much rock in that tank and there is tons of swimming room................

hey diesel...many, many gorgonians are NOT ILLEAGAL to collect I just want to point that out. ONly a few speicies are illeagal, the purple sea fan for example. I did NOT collect that one.

I checked with the marine police even, trust me i am not doing anything illeagal!!!!!

i just wanted to clear that up. a person is allwoed to collect 6 octocorals per person per day excluding fire coral. the species I collected are leagal.....just want to make that perfectly clear...now...

I was at big pine key fishing lodge, but I like to go to fiesta key koa too, am going back to the keys in 2 weeks after california in 1 week :-)

Ohh and I got a huge amount of stuff, but sadly i think one of the gorgonians realeased toxins and killed most of the ones you see. :-( I read taht if damaged some gorgs can release toxins and i think i damaged some of them while collecting and i think some of the ones i collected were too big to be collected anyways...:-(

It is really sad to see the bright purple one you see in one of the pics die..that was the most awesome intense gorg i have ever seen. i have never seen one like that in the keys before...

but i collected the usual clean up crew along with some wicked fish...

you maynot beleive me but I collected a 2foot long gymnothorax moringa with a small green hand net! it was in a hole and there was only 1 way out...

also collected damsels, mysis eating pipefish, scrawled cowfish, slippery **** wrasse.....hrmmm hi-hat.....urchins stuff i cant thing about now..

the goal of the collecting trip (thats wat it was) was to collect gorgs, but I think i damaged them too much while collecting and that caused nearly all of them to die...(only 1, and .5 of another remains) i had a skimmer going 24 7 and a powerhead and a heater on that tank for nutrient controll at all times

when i go back i am going to do it differently so that everyhting live...all plants are going to be in individual bags in a cooler, inverys will be individual in plaastic bags in a cooler, and the fish will be in plastic bags. the gorgs i hopefully will get will be in a 30g. or so tub with a skimmer going all the time and i am only going to collectlittle gorgs this time...hopefully some sea stalk briareum too....and some other "furry" species....

Thats cool man. One of my Dad's good friends owns a house in Big Pine. I usually go down there to fish with him. Sad to hear the bad news on that I actually thought that you were now unable to collect most anything down there now due to the entire area being designated a marine life sanctuary, but I guess that is not the case
