Edward, a lot of the reefs in the Red Sea are next to the beach. I took the pictures while snorkeling. Some years ago we spend one week on a boat with 3 daily dives but the corals near the surface show much more color

I really would not recommend to wear wide shorts.

                  Nice, perfect aquarium specimens

Have they had recent bleaching events in the Red Sea? Those colonies all seem very immature for wild colonies. From diving in the Indo Pacific I am more used to seeing dense fields of mostly the same species of giant staghorns with some huge table acros or plating montis here and there.

                    Alexander,

I just come back yesterday from the Red Sea (Sharm el Sheikh). Where did you go?

That pic with the jellyfish is very familiar, there were a LOT of them there.

Hi Habib, hopefully you had a pleasant vacation. The pictures where taken in the makadi bay and at some reefs which are located not to far away. To sad they are building continuously new hotels in the bay. I am sure the reef will go down very soon

Dejan also went to Sharm and I expect the pictures with the jellyfish where taken in this area.
