The mother after fragging ... tissue enclosed the cuts within 5 days ... coralites began forming 2 days later ...

MY EYES! MY EYES! ahhhh THE BRIGHTNESS!!!
Proud owner of an Elegance Coral "that lived". (It is thriving whith long tentacle tips...purchased in January 2005.) It has white tentacle tips, I beleive this has something to do with ones that will typically live due to the collection site.

                          Greetings All !

                          Nick,
I want to believe that it's an Acropora tortuosa ... definitely from a valid source location (Tonga), tapered branches, many branchlets, incipient axial corallites, and minimal polyp extension during daylight (... which really ticks me off because the polyps are bright sky blue ...).

But I'm open to alternative ID suggestions ...

I just picked up another 2 8" specimens from the same importer. Unfortunately, I'm not geared up yet for shipping ... but hopefully sometime later this year ... I'll let you know when I'm ready.

I have that same coral (got it from mesocosm). I've been calling it A. austera.

It's kind of an in-between of the toruosa and the hoeksemi.
