Thought it was time to post mine. First was shortly after I rescued it from floundering in the LFS. Interesting to see the change in coloration and patterns. I assure you this is the same clam from beginning to end.

I need a recent pic. But currently this clam is 12" long, 7" wide and weighs probably 10 lbs. I can't keep it away from the front glass, no matter how many times I move it away to make room for the magnet, it always goes back within a few days.

You're right about that. I pull more hair with trying to move mine. They just go right back to where they were.

Neil, no additional feedings. Just the light and whatever it filters from the water. I've noticed it seems more irritated by food in the water (cyclopese, DT's, oystereggs, etc) than anything else, and often closes completely until most of it is gone.

Very nice clam.. So are you running zeovit? Has it affected the clam in anyway??

                    Hey Nanoreef, and

I've ran ZEOvit for 3 years this December. Only positive effects on the T. deresa. Growth remains very strong, too strong as a matter of fact. I'm looking into alternative placement as it has nearly outgrown my system. I moved it from the display to it's temporary home and it weighs nearly 20 lbs (my best guess) drained of as much water as I could to move it through the living room without getting sprayed by it. I've been meaning to pull it, measure and weigh it as I'm curious to it's dimensions.

Anyone know if the public aquariums would take a donation like this? Monterey Bay or San Francisco Bay Aquariums for example. I also have a VERY large T. reniformis that will need placement.

Well that is great that you were able to save it from the LFS.. I think an aquarium would definitely take it as a donation for one of their tanks.. I'm thinking of running zeo in my 150 gal but I'm not sure where to exactly start..

I suggest you start right here-

Then post in the general discussion forum any further questions.

Thanks Marshal. I've already downloaded that and started reading it. Very good information. I have a sandbed and wondering if I can still run Zeovit?
