  • Zeovit and ULNS with dinos?

I recently switched to Zeovit and running ULNS with 7.3 Alk, 420 Calcium, 1250 Mag, 1-5ppm Nitrate, and 0.01-0.02 P04. While I know Zeovit is very controlled dosing and so on, they recommend running close to zero for both Nitrate and Phosphate. Wouldn't running both near zero potentially bring upon dinos? Any other zeovit users out there able to provide me with some context?

    Thanks!

Personally I never had issues with Dino***gelate even in my systems running for years with undetectable PO4 and NO3 levels except at my last system which was caused by a piece of hose leaching any kind of harmful substances. After removing the hose the problem went away within one day.

I have seen Dinoflaggelate in any kind of systems so in my opinion it has nothing directly to do with a nutrient poor environment. Usually if the biology is strong and solid you should not experience such problems even in a nutrient poor system.

So I assume with the ZeoBak, creating a strong and healthy bacteria in the tank, should help out compete dinos?

Not directly, I do not want to say dose ZeoBac and you will never get Dinos. The biology of a system which is also important to the corals coloration and health is not just created by ZeoBac, many other factors are involved but I would say if you do not use any kind of material (technical equipment, rocks, sand etc.) which does leach any kind of harmful substances and if the biology of the system is strong and health it is not really probable that you will get Dions.
