  • Compatible Wrasse in BB Reef?

Hi all, I have a six-line wrasse with a few other fish in my reef. I'm interested in adding a wrasse or 2 & I'm looking for opinions on which ones do well in a high flow, barebottom reef?
    TIA Bob

I have a yellow coris wrasse in my BB tank and he seams very happy. I added him to help protect my clams from potential parasites. He is constantly moving among the rocks picking off bits of food.

Bob- all fairy wrasse or flasher wrasses are fine in BB, i guess Dave B. also have some leopard wrasses in his BB tank.

I know for a fact though that the fairy and flasher wrasses are fine with out sand. There are some colorful ones and they are pretty nice fish. wish i didnt loose my collection!

forgot to mention, is the sixline agressive? if so you might have a hard time adding any type of wrasse other than a mystery wrasse.

if hes small and not to agressive as long as you get wrasses bigger than him they should do alright.

Yea, Nick, he's small but comfortable, so the yellow coris maybe my best bet Bob

ditch the sixline and then get some flashers or fairies.

I have a lepoard in my BB tank. But I keep a small container of sand for it. I shure wish it diddnt want the sand cause it keeps blowing around my tank.

Bob, make sure the coris is bigger then the six line or he will attack it. My six line is a maniac. I have a yellow coris also that was added before the six line and hes larger so no problems... Both fair very well in HIGH flow and BB...

Mystery wrasse doing well, fat and happy after a year. Eats everything from Diamichi pellets to flake to pump bottle cyclopeeze to mysis. Awesome fish and unlike many EXPENSIVE fish, absolutely stunning and reef-safe!!!!
