For those who have been to Interzoo, IMAC, MACNA and other events, is Interzoo better - worse - the same as the ones in the US? I'm only interested in the aquarium part of it, I believe its for all types of animals?

As luck would have it, I'm attending a wedding at the end of April on the east coast, and my wife's birthday is 4/27 - this one ends in a zero so she wants something nice. It would not be hard to fit this one in.

Would it be worth it? Any advice? I've never been to Nurnberg, is it nice and how far is it from Munich?

Are all the big guys there like RE, Tunze, etc?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

i have never been there, but i know that interzoo is the largest event of that kind, and yes everybody will be there, and i mean everybody,

btw, i will be there at interzoo 2006, for my first time
it is only for dealers tho, since i am not a dealer and got nothing to do with any dealer, i will have to find somebody that let me be a dealer for a day ,
that's something you might consider too,

We should arrange a zeovit.com members meeting over there! Maybe we can print a zeovit.com badge with our nick?!
Be careful to reserve an hotel room very soon, in January or February, March and April can be too late.

Interzoo is definitively worth a visit, it's so big you should have a bike to ride between stands and one full day usually is not enough for a complete tour. There are producers from 5 continents. Interzoo is very different from MACNA, it's not intended for hobbyists but for professionals. No sales, no conferences, no meetings, just everything that is produced by the pet industry.

The drawback is that you must have an invitation from a firm since admission is for businessmen only, no private customers. Usually my LFS have some invitations for their best customers...

And on late Sunday when it's almost time to leave you can do bargains... like buying pieces of equipment used only for display at discounted price or partecipating in an auction for 1000 clownfishes!

                    Fliger,

When selling this to your wife as part of her 'Birthday Weekend' - Make sure you know that the show is in Nurrenburg (sp?) Germany - which has never been known as a travellers dream. And the show itself is pretty far outside of town.

The show is huge and takes a couple of days just to walk.

                        Thanks everyone for the info.

Dave, I'll just tell her to go shopping and she'll be happy.

I love Bavaria, last year we visited a couple villages in the Bavarian Alps and hiked to the top of a mountain that was full of Germans with huge stiens. I have a couple friends here and in Munich, which is in my top 5 favorite European cities.

Thanks all for the info, I am about 90% sure I'll be going - as long as I can get an invite from someone. Is that hard to get?

I love Franziskaner! There used to be instructions on how to pour it on the label since pouring good wheat beer is an art form! I just love beer, period.

As Dave said, the show is located not directly in the centre of Nuernberg but not to much outside. You can easy reach it by metro, which has a station directly in front of the show. By metro it takes about 15 minutes from the centre to the show.

Nuernberg has a lot interesting places to meet. I am sure nobody will get bored within one week. Here you can find some additional information in English about Nuernberg:

                          http://www.nuernberg.de/english/index.html

Its not easy to get a hotel while Interzoo, so I would recommend to reserve a room as soon as possible.
