  • Hurricane Wilma

Well, here it is closing in on the end of hurricane season and now they NHC has that storm pointed right towards us here on the lower Gulf coast of Fl. There is a cold front moving southward and hopefull it is strong enough to keep it south or weak enough to let it go north. I would never wish this type of thing on another but man I hope it steers clear of my area. I hate these things! It's still early so only time will tell for sure.

Well, definately headed our way. Looks like it will be Cat 2 which is not horrible but no fun either. Everyone in the area be safe, and I will talk to everyone after it clears.

Well guys I am still here. Actually not too terribly bad here at home. I lost power early this morning and it came back on about an hour ago. Super fast! Last year it took 6 days. We only git about 85+ mph winds or so here. I fear that our shop in Naples may be severely damaged. It is about 35 miles south of my home, which is about where Wilma came ashore. The National Guard is holding down Collier county and not letting anyone in until damage assesments have been done. I plan to go and check it out tomorrow morning. I sure do hope all is well.

Hey Nestor! I know you guys are always taking a beating from one storm or another.

Sean how did you fare? Well I hope. I have a friend in Miami and they got the normal wind damage and are without power as well. Anyways, good luck my friend.

I will update more tomorrow sometime. Lots of clean up work ahead.

Yep Dustin the last hurricane that passed thru the island pounded us for about 16 hours with 135mph+ winds i lost many things including part of my house due to a fallen tree but we have recovered very well i spent 35 days without power and 15 days without water im glad to know that you are all right and of course i lost all of my livestock to that storm.

                      Glad to hear from you

Well it looks as if our shop in Naples did pretty well. No real damage and power was back on this morning. Man we got lucky. Nestor that just sucks man. over a month with no power would be so horrible. You must have a generator right?

Dustin right now i dont have one but im planning to get one,so far this year we have been lucky no hurricanes only low pressure systems that have dumped tons of inches of rainfall last week we got about 10 to 12 inches of rain usually we take a test drive of hurricanes before they hit the US lol but thank God this year they have left us alone we still have until the 30th of november until the season is gone as the water temps here around the island are still very warm.
