  • Banner Link?

Sorry i wonder if you guys can help me?

How do i put a banner link of my website under my profile?

    Thanks

    Christiaan

    Hey Christiaan,

    It is pretty easy.

Edit your profile and look for the signature link.

    Now edit your signature.

Make sure your banner image is placed on your server. Now you need to create a link to it.
    Use the following code:
    ["URL=http://www.yoursite.co.za]["IMG]http://www.thelinktoyourimage.co.za[/IMG"] [/URL"]

Please remove the " in the URL & IMG tags.

    Hope that helps

        Greetings All !

        Funkyskunk,

When you edit your signature to include an image, the link to the image must be embedded within HTML [IMG] tags ...

I suggest using the "insert image" button, and then paste in the image's URL ... then save changes.

Edit Update: Dang ... I see what you mean. Strange ... what CurvBall suggests should work. Sorry I'm not of more use to you in terms of getting the image to be a "hotspot" link ... what I've modelled here is the best I can do ...

        Solution scottw?

I tried to help by editing your signature. There is something about where you have the pic stored on your server that the board doesn't like. At least that is my guess.

Maybe try storing it in another place and see if that new url works better.

                  Funkyskunk,

If we're still talking about doing what I did in your signature space ...

                  1. The image (JPEG, GIF, or whatever file ...) must be hosted (... have its own URL ...) somewhere. For the example I posted previously, I used:
                  http://www.zeovit.com/photopost/data...funkyskunk.jpg

                  It looks like ...

                  2. Go to your "User Control Panel". Clicking "User CP" will take you there.

                  3. On the left side column, locate "control Panel" ... underneath that is the heading "Settings & Options" ... underneath that is "Edit Signature". Click edit signature.

                  4. An interface will appear which looks exactly like the one used to post replys to threads.

                  5. Click the "Insert Hyperlink" button ... a dialog box will appear prompting you to enter the text, which when clicked, will serve as the hyperlink to your website. Enter what ever you want (I'll use, "Whatever Text Desired"). After you hit "OK", a second prompt will appear ... this is where you enter the exact URL for where you want people to be taken (I used: http://www.ph8point2.co.za). After you've entered the URL, hit "OK".

                  What you'll get is this:
                  Whatever Text Desired

                  6. Now hit your enter key once to move the cursor to the next line.

                  7. Click the "Insert Image" button ... you'll get a prompt asking for the image's URL ... type or paste in the URL and hit "OK".

                  8. You might wish to make sure everything "works" using the "Preview Signature" option.

                  9. Click "Save Signature" and you're done.

Combined, things look like this ..

                  Whatever Text Desired
