I just realized that I need a Mandarin for my 75g. It has been up and running for 3 years total, but in current location for around 8 months. It is settled, and I beleive it is nime. Ohh Ohh I have $50 I want to spend!!!

we will have to see. Heck, I havnt even gone to heaven yet!(heaven=fish store).

Last time I was there, they had a encrusting monti that literally BLOWED ME AWAY!!!

      Unfortunately, I had no money.

I cant remember if it was yellow with pink polyps, pink with yellow polyps, blue with yellow polyps, or yellow with blue polyps!

All I know is that it was WICKED SWEET! I am pretty sure it was $65 though, probably sold by now, I am pretty sure the LFS has all those aquacultured and ORA aquacultured acro's left. and some orange ricordia, green ricordea, RED mushrooms(bumpy kind) and deep purple shrooms(bumpy kind....not that that helps...)

To be honest, I have absolutely no idea what I am going to get today....

I think you need to stay away from the Mandarin as they require a good amount of care. If I recall correctly, you don't have a sandbed OR a fuge, which will limit your number of pods which is essential to the lively hood of the animal. I'd say away from the Mandarin and go with a less maintance intensive fish.

You should probably spend some more time trying to learn about aquariums rather then jump head first into higher level fishes. You know what happens when you don't really pay attention and don't have the real usable knowledge.

Best advise I can give you is, save your money. Not every penny you get should go into your tank. Eventually you're going to want to get a car or go on a date and that's going to require money. There's no rush, and sometimes it seems like you're in one, to have the best tank with the coolest stuff.

Take your time and enjoy the hobby. There will always be bigger better things to save your money for.

No, I didnt get a mandarin, and I already have a vehicle. (1984 Ford Ranger...Red! Also, NO rust. It was garage kept by my grandpa, thing was $500 and runs great.) Thing runs like a whiltle(but what does that phrase really mean...)

I am still working on the girlfriend idea...every day. 8-)

I bought, a 8-9" Massive Hydnophora exesa...the Branching variety. Nice green. I have always wanted one...I figured that I would buy a coral I know would not STN or RTN and a coral that grows fast and is hardy. (Why buy (2) 1" brownish green acro frags when I could get a massive hydno???)

This thing is really massive...it's base is 1" wide not counting the encrusting...making its base a total of 2.5" wide with the encrustation, and it is 8" tall with one 3" branch coming off of the side of it, the coral is awesome, man. It is hairy too! (and I love hairy corals)

what a sucessful day it was only $58 too.....and a nice green. :-)

The store owner is a little...ohh I dont know. He has brown hair, his "wife" has WHITE hair and is 80 or something, he is like....60ish....

And, I was discussing on how colorful my acro's were with him, just saying that they were really getting healthy...BTW all the acros in his show tank were browning out IMO, and he said while I was on my way out..." Well at least my corals dont die".

WHAT WAS THAT??? Was he saying that my corals were dying, or referring to people in general?

Also, I was at the store 2 weeks earlier and he had a purple and a neon green acro that he got in in a shipment, and when I went today, the purple one was 99% bleached, and the"neon" green one was dull green!!!

the cool monti i saw 2 weeks ago was also sevelrely loosing color...I am not sure if I want to go there anymore...this other guy in another LFS is nice, and totally unlike this guy at the "waters of the world" place....sheesh

at least I got a good coral, and I know secretly that my show tank is better than his....yay for me!
