  • J2SE 1.4.2 v J2SE 5.0

Where did this 5.0 come from? I'm trying to get the enviroment running on my system for some small projects that get thrown my way and usually, I thought updates went in order 1.4 -> 1.4.? -> 1.5; so where did 5.0 come from?

Tonka, you may have some experience, so chime in

I know it's out there, but I haven't even looked at the API. Let me do some looking around - if I can get this stuff I am working on now finished. I will let you know what I find out.

      I just skimmed this:
      http://java.sun.com/developer/techni...leases/j2se15/

but there are a ton of improvements in the 5.0 release.

        Figured it out.

        NM.

It's actually 1.5.0, not 5.0; that's what threw me off.

        Matt, ever used Vectors?

I guess the main reason for Vecotors is because I usually don't know what size I am going to need. If I need to get to something quick, I use the Hashtable and just call the key for that object, otherwise Vectors and Collections all the way!

Yeah, I just have been taught through my years of educational programming( ) to write my own stuff. Whatever.

I gotta get back to the gym, I think I'm getting chubby!

Why re-invent the wheel? Use what is convenient and gets the job done?

The gym has been kicking my arse - I have been doing two-a-days for two weeks now. Lifting in the am, and cardio in the pm. I am dead!

I wish I had someone who wanted to do that everyday.

If I have a partner to lift with, I never miss, but when it's just me, I get lazy. This ankle problem isn't getting better and now I have a problem with my wrist, I'm going to make a post after class and ask moonpod for some advice.

I wonder if the calcium in my body is low and I can't heal?

yeah it's cool with Dana, we are able to motivate each other which makes all the difference in the world.

you're too young to be having all those sorts of problems!
