  • Help me Decide, Mac or PC

Time for a new computer, I have been using a old I-Mac for the past 5 years and have been happy, but can't decide to go with another Mac or go to the DarkSide.
The computer will be used for web page publishing and surfing the net.
Thanks for your input, and I know it is a HOT topic.

Are you kidding?!? I'd just go with a new mac. I was using a G5 dual processor at my previous job, awesome. I do mainly graphic work both web & print. I don't like PC's... I also have my own personal I-Book. I love Mac's, I willl never go back to a PC... mac all the way! HTH

Actually I deceided and got a new Imac G5. Just taking a few days to get everything changed over, but loving it so far. Just wish I could afford the dual 2.5 G5 and the 30" monitor
Thanks for the input. One of my main things that helped me decide is the lack of spyware, and the very few viruises that are out there for macs.

I ended up with the G5 17" 1.8GHz with the 512ram/ bluetooth. NO airport yet. I could not be happier, I would be kicking myself if I had went to the dark side.I would of went with the 20", but my desk is not that big. I went to my local AppleStore and if you would see the new twin 2.5 with 4 megs and the 30" widescreen . That makes my knee's week just thinking about it. The Mini's were sweet, but I wanted a G5. Now I have just got to get my Palm to sync via BT, I would be in hog heaven.

Ny, Macs excel in graphical design, video and audio editting.

When it comes to software and games, they are terrible. As is there expandablity.

Some people like them, I prefer photoshop and fruitloops on a PC anyday.

Why is it funny to see me here?

Yeah, for video games PC any day. Most developers don't even make games for the mac. I'll find you a FUNNY video that makes fun of macs, but it may take me a few days.

Actually all the major games for the PC is avial for the Mac. Most gamers are using PC systems. I'm personally not a gamer, so that was no concern for me, but for gaming a PC seems to be the first choice, but a Mac G5 tower can be set up for gaming and blow the PC systems away, just you will pay more for the Mac. For Internet surfers the mac wins hands down, no spyware and very few virius's for the Mac. If you have a Apple store close, it is well worth your time to check them out before the purchase of your next computer.
