  • Polyp extension during daytime.

I saw RC thread about polyp extension. they say polyp extension in daytime
is a sign that coral has stress. Is it correct? what do you think?

Or another way to look at P-E, is the coral healthy or unhealthy? This is always an interesting topic, with varying opinions regarding it's function. My feeling is that P-E is multi-functional, ie. feeding, light absorption area increase, facilitates 02-C02 exchange & thereby, facilitates coral growth. Bob

Nick, you've never been diving or snorkling have you? I wouldn't say that the corals looks better in our tanks than in nature. Maybe some select corals, particularily when stuck under 20K lights and actinics, but...

The corals from Fiji are gorgeous, and I have rarely seen that magnificance in any reef aquarium,as nice as some are. And as for growing faster and bigger—well, you need to go diving on the reefs, dude...!

Zeo's great, but Mother Nature kicks ass...!

                      Hi~ zeoville guys..

All of my SPSs are not the same case.
Some SPSs(like valida, birdnest) polyp extention are OK
                      (they are normal case)

and I use blv10Kand AC 14k and Parameters are
CA 450,KH7.4 MG1200,no3,po4 is zero with salifert.
and I found the growth of my SPS are not good. but the color is getting
                      better I think.. :afro:
Is it related to abnormal polyp extension in daytime?
