  • Zeobac Transport Temp

I'm ordered a vile of zeobac from California to be shipped to my home in the currently cold midwest. I assume the zeobac got pretty cold in transit. Do cold temperatures affect the bacterial culture and its effectiveness once it warms back up?

Pikeman, i dont think they bak can be affected untill open. But i cant see how this can be???

But the bak is the only zeo suppliment that should be kept in the fridge. I would be more worried of having the bak transported in the summer.

ZeoBak, is fine for at least 3mos. when unopened, rain or shine, hot or cold. Once opened, it does need refridgeration Bob

Nick, not necessarily, smell test when open after 3mos. If no odor, it's good to go. Bob

              Aged Salt,

But why would opening affect it??? as the liquid had to be out at some point.

I would of thought that some temp conditions would affect it. Like milk. A upopened milk bottle will last for ages in a fridge but just left upopen in the kitchen will lessen its life. And if left upopen outside will lessen it even further.

Andrew, with a shipping transit time being relatively short, the temperature issue is of no concern on bak, while, extended extreme heat conditions[mos.]will denature biologicals & shorten the self-life. Once bak has been exposed & mixed with air[activated?, mixed with contaminant bacteria?], plan on using the sniff-test for viability for the end-point of usefulness. Bob

Similar what Madison would smell like when he eats some chilli and beans... J/K, it smells like rotten eggs.
