  • Zeo and 175w MH

    Hi,
Is anyone running zeo getting good growth and color under 175w metal halide. I remember reading somewhere that was possible with zeo method?

I hope so because I only have 150 watt DE

I would imagine with how clear ZEOvit gets the water, you should be fine with 175W... I've seen some great tanks with 175W and 150W DE. It has made me wonder sometimes if we overvalue the light these corals need...? I have to admit though, for the bluer lamps, 14K-20K, I really like the 250W DE...

I'm running a 175w and 150w DE, but my tank is only 12" deep.. it seems to be working fine so far (both are 14K bulbs).. it really depends on tank depth.

Well, I am running one 250w 10k on a 40 gal at the moment. Wondering if two 175w will be better then one 250w.

skeletor, wasp - How would you describe your growth rate?

Well I'm pretty new to sps's, so don't know what growth rate is meant to be. What I've had so far, is not startling, but steady. I've heard people talk about stuff that "grows like a weed" , I'm certainly not experiencing that with any sps.

I was going to use ZEO with VHOs; I still intend to do so with my frag tank in the fall/spring of next year.
