  • Vacationing in Monterey, CA. Anyone nearby?

I am in Monterey with my wife and son through Sunday. The great white shark at the MB Aquarium is incredible!

I am wondering if there are any stores worth seeing close by? I am considering a trip to Atlantis Aquarium in Freemont, but I am not sure if it it will work out.

If you are in the Monterey area, and wouldn't mind visitors on short notice, reply here, or PM me.

If you are interested in stores there is a thread in the BAR(Bay Area reefers) forum on RC. Aquascene and Aquatic Gallery might interest you, but they are in the Bay Area.

      Tom,

Im in the east bay area.
There are a few good stores within 1 1/2 -2 hours from Monterey. Probably worth a visit.

As derek said, aquascene and aquatic gallery are well worth it.........tropical paradise used to be THEE store, but has turned their attention towards wholesale.
Feel free to shoot me a PM , and I can hook you up with adresses and #'s if you need it.

Too bad I'm not home, Tom. My family is in Carmel and Santa Cruz... Great that you got to see the great white, I have been dying to get up there to see it myself...!

If you can at all make it to Atlantis Aquarium, I would! They seem to have some of the best corals/frags in the country...!

I'm back in Vermont. Monterey was great. Any of you guys in that area who haven't seen the great white shark at the MB Aquarium, it's awesome, and definitely worth the trip.

I stopped by Atlantis Aquarium on Sunday afternoon, and picked out some frags that I will be receiving tomorrow; a blue aculeus, a metallic yellow suharsonai, and this one:

I'm also getting a couple of LEs from Steve Tyree tomorrow.

It was a great trip. It's good to be home, and I am looking forward to getting the new corals.
