Sump design and reactor placement

Just wondered if the reactor should be before or after the skimmer?
At this stage the new sump, which must be small, will have the first chamber with the skimmer in it, with an overflow baffle to keep steady level for the skimmer. Then the second chamber will house the reactor and the return pump. Passive carbon probably in the first chamber with the skimmer, as there will be little flow in the second chamber.
That any good?

Hi Alastair, your arrangement is exactly as Alexander"s & mine The skimmer before the zeo-filter. In this manner the mulm from the pumping gets to the corals & not first to the skimmer. Bob

hahah well my skimmer is before my zeo rx but my intake for my skimmer is after heheheheh... I guess I will have to unplug the skimmer for a few min after pumping the stones...

Sump setup

Gidday all,another kiwi zeovit convert(week three in the first cycle),and have been trawling through all the posts picking up great gen along the way,so far i've found the answers to all the questions i could have thought of,Excellent forum!! Quite proud of my diy reactor,as you can tell brand new as no scratches on the sides,yet haha Zeovit reactor sump

i have 2 overflows and one of them is hot wired to my skimmer the other to my sump
