Green Film on my glass

So I think I need to reduce my aminos from 2 drops to 1 drop per day.

I have a 40 gallon tank.

I started dosing 2 drops per day of aminos about 1.5 weeks ago and everything seemed fine. However I didn't clean my glass for 3 days, a couple of days ago, and I got a light green film on the glass. Also some corals that were near a powerhead started getting some light algae on them.

My food, bac and start drops have remained consistent so I don't think that is the cause of the problems.

Right now I am own week 4 of this set of zeoliths.

I forgot to mention that all my corals are doing fine health wise, no tissue loss, or polyp retraction. The only thing was the little bit of algae on 2 corals and I just brushed it away, and all was well again.

Hi Brad, yes, too much AAHC results in a brown/greenish haze on the panes. I'd recommend holding AAHC for a few days, then resume at the lower daily quantity. Bob

Bob's right.. and soak your powerheads in Vinegar on a monthly basis. Should be done anyways to clean them up like new.

Good point, Edward, I clean the Tunze Streams every 4-6wks, whenever, they become dirty. Bob

My system is somewher near 75 gallons, and I've found 2 drops daily of AAHC too much, I just dose one.
Hardly had any sps until a few days ago though, now I suddenly got a tankful so not sure if that will increase requirements.
