Stone flushing

Hi,

Ive decided to hook up an old Eheim 1060 to a spare inlet of my DIY reactor to flush the stones instead of the plunger (reason being the smaller stones are falling through the base plate on my plunger!), is it beneficial or detrimental to flush the stones more than once a day and if it benefits what would be the ideal number.

Also anyone else using a pump to flush the stones rather than using the plunger method?

Hi Gary, I pump the stones 2x's/day. I do not see any reason why you couldn't do this more often w/o any harm. Bob
