  • The sign of changing live rocks

Some reefers change the live rock periodically.

Is there any sign of changing live rocks?

I think 7th Heaven is talking about the Zeorock.

Just monitor your water levels, i find that the tank looks a lot better after a rock change out (now on my 3rd) and my redox goes up.

      Cheers

I never heard of the need to change live rock...
It's a very expensive method if you want to try that

If your rocks are filthy.. i would change. I have heard that I have very clean rock and wonder how I keep it so clean. For me, there is no need to change.

One of the theories is that by exchanging out your live rock for new rock at intervals over the years, you will never experience "old tank syndrome"—essentially a tank crash. The thought is that the LR can accumulate noxious gunk similar to a DSB over many years time, and constantly rotating your LR can avoid this...

Seems like you would need to cure the rock in a dark container, similiar to the "cooking" process before adding to your tank.
