Hello Mike and welcome to ZeoVit.com !

Your dosing regimen seems to be a little bit to high for your system size. I would recommend you the following changes:

ZeoVit – 0.7 liters with a constant water flow of ~ 75 US gallons per hour, replaced every 6 weeks.
    ZeoBac – 3 drops 2 – 3 xweek.
    ZeoStart – 0.28 ml 2 x day.
Korallenzucht carbon – 0.25 liters passively flown in a mash bag in the sump, replaced every 4 weeks.

If you like to you can continue to dose Flatworm Stop and Coral Booster but I would recommend you to skip both at the moment until nutrients start to decrease.

Please measure the flow through your ZeoVit reactor by collecting water from the reactor outlet for 30 seconds with a smaller container. Multiply the volume by 120 and you will get the output per hour which should be ~ 75 US gallons.

That your skimmer stopped skimming is unusual, please check if the skimmer is adjusted / installed correctly or if anything is blocked.

Water parameters are within the recommended ranges, keep them as solid as possible. I would additional recommend you to get a potassium test as this is a important element especially in a nutrient poor environment. The level should be ~ 380 mg.

      Alexander,

thank you for the quick response I appreciate your help.
I am going to switch to your recommendation However does the bio load changes anything here and the reason I ask is because I have 5 big tangs, 3 chromiis, 1 big maron clown, 1 sand sifting goby, 1 flame hawk, and 1 large fox face in that tank.
I know it’s a lot of fish in this size tank I am in the process to switching to an ocean guard 980 (193 us gallon display) that just got cycled and I just put my first 2 fish but that’s going to be another post lol.
I appreciate the help in advance.

Hello Mike, indeed your fish load is really high for the system size and you might need to reduce it if nutrients do not increase but as you have already planed to install a bigger system this should be just a temporary issue.

Most important thing is to get the skimmer skimming again, this might be the main problem at the moment.

How have you controlled nutrients before starting ZeoVit and where they elevated already ?

Because of your new system, do you plan to run ZeoVit on it also ?

I was using an ATS and it worked great for the PO4 around (.01-.05) but I was always running high no3 in the 18-20 range so I switched to Nopox and that didn’t work then I went to bio Pellets and that’s when my po4 shot up and that’s when I decided to switch to zeo.
and yes I am already running zeo on the new system po4 is .08 and no3 is at 10 right now

Thank you for the additional details Mike so the increase of nutrients is not a result from switching to ZeoVit which is basically a good sign but it might take some time until nutrients start to decrease again.

            I would suggest to:
            1. Getting the skimmer working again
            2. Changing the dosing regimen as suggested
            3. Making sure the reactor has enough flow
            4. Additional the dosage of 6 drops BioMate every other day might speed up nutrient reduction
            5. The fish load does play a role also but at the moment this can not be changed

Ok I have been following your advice for the last few days zeobak 3 times a week and start at .28 X 2 times a day and I have the bio mate I will start that tomorrow and the skimmer is back working again I think it’s just too big for that tank so I had to drop the water level in sump.
as far as my new display what do you recommend
it’s an a 193 gallon display and a total volume of 259 gallons before subtracting any volume for substrate and rocks and currently my po4 is 0.10 and my no3 is at 11.1 I know it’s a bit high but I just got done with the cycle and I added 4 fish over 3 weeks no corals in this tank yet but I got a vast marine zeo reactor online already and I have been dosing 8 drops of zeobak every other day and .8 start twice a day trying to get this one started right so I don’t have the same issue with my old tank

Hello Mike, it would be good if you could open a new thread as it is a different system. Please post some more details and I we will be happy to give you a recommendation for the further dosing:

Have you used the 14 day cycle method for this system like described in this post ?
