Hi everyone. does the outlet of the zeolite reactor go to the skimmer or to the return pump? Thank you

  • #2
The mud from the reactor outlet should go to the return pump, which is excellent food for the corals, not filter it or go directly to the skimmer inlet.

Thank you for your answer. But if there are nitrates and phosphates in the 5tank, does the outlet always go to the return pump? Thank you

Yes, the outlet flow of the reactor should be returned to the pump as much as possible, it has nothing to do with the presence of nutrients in the tank. You describe 5tank, I don't quite understand the meaning.

Thank you for your answer. the 500lt tank has been running for many years with sps and lps corals. 2 vortech mp40 . akula 200 skimmer. calcium reactor with aragonite kz. since i replaced the ati 10x54w ceiling light with 2 gnc bluray pro. I can no longer get good values. before I had all the nutrients at zero without zeovit. i started zeovit about 5 months ago. but without obtaining improvements with 0.08 phosphates and 10mg nitrates. here is the reason for my question. Thanks in advance for your interest and advice.

Hello Eugenio, can you please share the net water volume of your system and your dosing regimen including a list of all korallenzucht products you already have ? Please also measure the flow through your zeovit reactor by collecting the water at the outlet of the reactor for 30 seconds with a smaller container. Multiply the water volume you collected by 120 and you will get the exact output per hour.

If possible please also share a picture of your sump and a full tank shot.

            G.Alexander

I dose the products a few times in the sump and sometimes directly in the tank. I've tried all the modes I don't understand where I'm wrong. Thanks again

On your system, the net volume is 400 liters.

Zeo Start 0.4ml twice a day morning and night (a total of 0.8ml a day).
Zeo Bac 4 drops 2-3 times a week.
Zeo SpongePower 4 drops every other day.

BioMate 8 drops every other day if available.
Zeo CoralSnow 4m, 2 times a week (if you have it)

The reactor outlet flow is a bit low, let's gradually increase the flow to 400 liters. Also get the Potassium Test Kit, K+~380g

Let's clean and wet the skimmer's collection cup. make it more export for a while

okay. This is the procedure that I have followed scrupulously until today. do I remove zeofood? Do I have to use any product together with zeobac? sponge power in days other than zeobac? furthermore, all the products must be dosed in the sump in front of the reactor or in the tank?. thanks and sorry for the too many questions but I would like to be able to get some results.

Zeo Food Let's pause for a while and use SpongePower until the nutrition is well solid, which can be added later on for the coral appearance. Base products can be added before returning to the pump. If the corals are healthy, gradually increase the flow rate to 400 liters.

Do I have to use any product together with zeobac?
(If the tank has Cyanos, a mixture of ZeoBac and CoralSnow can be used as a cure)

After each replacement of the zeolite material, ZeoBac x10 days (4 drops for 10 days. Otherwise 2-3 times a week). If I understand your current system, replace the old 50% material and use the new 50% material, and if the nutrition is good, the next interval can be replaced after 6-7 weeks. Also check the reactor outlet flow. Zeo SpongePower 4 drops every other day (maintain this dose/frequency)

can i use them on the same day?
(Yes, Zeo products can be administered at the moment of the day, added separately, rather than mixed together, and there is no problem with execution.)

Hello Eugenio, because of the location to dose it is just important to not dose direct in front of the skimmer.

Lets increase the reactor flow as Jacky said, I am not 100% sure about the replacement of the ZeoVit material. If this is not the first ZeoVit exchange after starting with ZeoVit replace 90% of the material and keep ~ 10% of the old material in the reactor.

                              Thanks G.
I would also say that if this is not the first ZeoVit replacement after starting ZeoVit, replace 90% of the material and keep about 10% of the old material in the reactor.
