Well I can tell you ZeoLites are made from some kind of Clay like material, they are definitely not rock, after somehow leaving my Avast Shaker on for about 7 hours while I was at work I came home to a completely white aquarium it looked like I had just dosed a complete bottle of Coral Snow it was that bad! I could not even see my rock or fish much less a coral……I was very very bummed 100% my fault and I probably have about 3k in coral alone plus various fish I have had for over 10 years. Wasn’t to sure what to do so I just took it slow, I added a fresh bag of carbon in my sump, I placed a pre filter over my socks to absorb the fine grains and after about 8 hours everything settled and was I was able to perform a 10% water change, mostly using my vacuum to get the fine film of zeo dust off of my bare bottom and rocks….I am sure I will be vacuuming this dust for the next 5 or 6 water changes, however the good news is nothing was lost not even my new frags, I was amazed. I have no idea what is in the zeolites i will say it is not toxic to our aquarium in any way!!!!!!

It's a pity to hear such news, but I'm also glad that the corals are healthy. It may be good to do a few large water changes temporarily. Since you're adding new activated carbon (which I wouldn't do if it were me, to avoid both radical and rapid biological changes), let's watch coral health closely for the next few days and keep a baseline Water parameters are stable at NSW levels. -
Yes it was a pity, I was as bummed as you can imagine, however I will say this happened on Monday of this last week and it is now Sunday so 6 days and everything is looking great, I have full PE on my corals and colors are perfect, parameters are right on par. If anything I have less nuisance algae lol which just may be from the excess Zeo Dust. I have noticed a slight film of algae on my bare bottom in spots but this should just vacuum right up when I do my water change. I had just changed out my Zeos so I am debating changing them out again in then next couple weeks if anything starts looking funny but right now I just don’t want to change much more than my carbon and water, on a side note my carbon was due to be changed when this happened I was planning on doing it Tuesday my day off so maybe I dodged a bullet with the carbon change out….Comment

The ZeoVit material is a natural material. Zeolite powder can be used as some kind of a filtration material and can bid unwanted substances, some aquarium companies do offer such a powder in the meantime. If you add fresh ZeoVit material to your reactor your water will get cloudy also temporary but it will not have a negative impact to your corals.

Just thought I would give update after leaving my Avast Zeo Shaker on for over 7 hours, I was worried I was going to lose everything, however I can fully attest that I have lost nothing other than a few hours of cleanup and thats it. Corals, Fish and Tank are looking great. I will say not a good idea to ever leave something like this running for as long as I did but the Zeo Lites definitely do not harm our stuff thats a fact!Comment

I am very happy that the corals you described are also healthy. It is a natural material for nutrient reduction, but the flow in the reactor is also something we need to be concerned about, too aggressive a nutrient reduction, which can also have a negative impact on the corals.
For example, for a net water volume of 400 liters, we recommend that 1 liter of material corresponds to 400 liters, and the maximum flow rate per hour is 400 liters.
Twice a day (morning and evening) pull the lever several times to allow the material to roll/turn over well enough to release the mud.Comment
