    my question to alot of poeple out there on zeovit is low par over long period better then high par on short period.

    Red sea studies showed a photo period of 12 hours light and complete 12 hours dark was best for corals. corals need recovery in the sleep period just as much as light in the daylight hours

      From my experience it does additional depend to the strength of light, for example as HQI was standard a system with a 1000W HQI bulb was doing extremely well with a photoperiod of 6 – 7 hours with a 400W HQI bulb 9 – 10 hours where necessary to get a similar result. Basically I would say 8 – 12 hours should work well for most systems.
