  • Coral System or Pohl's xtra/B-Balance

Hello, my name is Darek, i have dominant SPS Reef Tank ca. 600l net.I use products KZ. For the sake of clarity, I would like to ask for your advice.
    I use:
    -Zeovit 1L
    - Carbon 0,5 L
    - Zeostart 1,2ml / day
    -Zeobak/Biomate/Cyano Clean 6 drop 2 x week
    -Sponge Power/Amino Acid/Coral Vitalizer 5 drop 3 x week
    -Zeofood 8 drop 3 x week
    -Coral Booster 3ml 3 x week
    -Coral Booster+Flatworm Stop 3ml+3ml 1 x weekly
    -Zeozym 1 spoon weekly
    - Coral snow plus 4ml 1 x weekly

    and a question: for this I want to use Coral System (4 x 15 ml weekly? or e.g. 4 x 2,5 ml daily? )

    or instead Pohl's xtra + B-Balance + A-Balance? which is a better choice?
Two methods contain a complete trace elements?
That's about it at the beginning.Thanks.

    Best regards.

I would get the Coral System. Its much more robust. Your already using quite a bit of zeovit products how have you found the system has worked for you?

Hello Darek and thank you for the additional details.

Nutrient concentrations are already low which is basically a good sign, what I find weird is that corals tissue is dark which does not seem to be a result of nutrients.

Your bulbs are already 11 month old, maybe this will fix the problem immediately.

To give you a advise for dosing additional “elements” it would be good if you could share some pictures of your SPS corals.

I have no experience with the AF Life Bio Fi filtration material but it seems to contain bacteria strains also. Usually mixing different systems does not work very well, this is why I would also recommend to remove the material over the next 8 weeks slowly step by step by monitoring the nutrient concentrations which should not start to increase.

Your dosing regimen is basically fine, just the ZeoVit quantity is lower than recommended. I would recommend you to increase the quantity to 1.5 liters next time you do a exchange. The reactor flow in this case should be ~ 600 liters per hour.

Lets also stop to dose Iron, Iodine and Strontium for the next 4 weeks to observe if corals do get lighter tissue.

As long as corals have dark tissue I would suggest to stay with the dosing regimen, additional other “elements” can be used later if necessary. Personally I prefer to dose those “elements” separate which gives me more “control” to fine tune corals coloration but basically the Coral System would be fine also.

              Hello Alexander,

Thank you very much for your answer. I will do as you suggest. I will also take photos and send it, but I don't know if I understand exactly: Coral System = Pohl's Xtra / B-Balance / A-Balance? Can I use everything together?

Hello Darek, the coral system from korallenzucht is a alternative to the individual bottles containing elements. It does consist of 4 bottles with a mixture of elements. Those products where created to support people which like to save some time for dosing in conjunction to dose all elements with a automatic dosing system.

ID:	602799 Hello Alexander, I’m sending photos .Is the Catalog ZEOvit Guide Easy Reefing up to date? Then dosing according to the catalog. Should I dose Coral System once a tweek? As in the catalog, I will replace Pohl’s Xtra/B-Balance/A-Balance = Coral System. Please confirm if it is okay.

Beautiful reef photos, I love that panorama. I think you replace the tube first, the old tube is 11 months old, I would also recommend you to use more white, that's fine. (Example: White x4, Blue x3, Purple x2, Red x1)

Thanks jacky, I know I have to replace.I ordered Bulbs and will replace in this week.In real is less blue.
I can't take real photos (yet).
I will try to add white as you suggest, but I prefer more blue

Thank you for the pictures Darek, I would also recommend to start with the new bulbs, give them 3 weeks and than lets modify your dosing regimen if still necessary as a second step.

Coral System is not the same as Pohl's Xtra / B-Balance / A-Balance but it might contain some of the elements.

Have you already decided to use the Coral System ?

If so I would recommend you to start like recommended on the bottles label but I would start slow with 1/3 of the recommended quantity. After the dosage observer your corals well for changes, if nothing happens you can increase the dosage step by step. If corals get darker tissue, reduce or skit the dosage temporary.

If corals tissue does get lighter about 2 weeks after the bulb exchange I would recommend you to start with 2.5 ml / 100 liters for each of the 4 bottles once per week.
