I am having problems maintaining magnesium only with changes of water, I usually have it over 1280 and it drops to 1200 in a week without adding, do you recommend adding magnesium and having it higher? He once told me that it was best to keep it only with water changes. Thank you

If it does not drop lower than 1200 mg I would personally not do anything. In systems with coraline algae the level can drop over the time. If you run a CaCO2 reactor adding some Mg granulate is something I would prefer instead of dosing a supplement.

I have personally just used CaCO2 reactors but basically you can mix your own Ca supplement very easy. It is just important to use pure chemicals without much additional elements as they will darken corals tissue.
