  • Phosphate problems

    Good afternoon

I have been using your system since January 2020, however I still have phosphate problems. Po4 0.66 Hanna Test - No3 2ppm Salifer
I will now describe the dosages I am currently using.
    3 lt zeolites
    Zeostart3 5 ml divided twice a day
    Spongepower 15 drops 2x week
Cyano clean 15 drops 2x week
    Biomate 15 drops 1x week
    Coralsnow 15 ml 2x week
    Zeozym 2 spoons 1x week
    Zeoback 15 drops 2x week
    Zeofood 15 drops 2x week
    Aquarium with 1500 liters
    25 Pisces Having the largest + - 15 cm
Are the correct dosages or should I change something.

    Thank you
    Best regards,
    António Seita

We can start by checking the flow rate of the zeolite reactor, not sure if the level is correct, do you have the opportunity to publish a true continuous flow?

Because I don't know if I can do that, the reactor is of your size M brand with the original pump and 3 lt of zeolites. Working 24 / 24.
I was measuring again yesterday and I have Po4 at 0.11 and No3 at 0.
Maybe that's why having whitening in sps and cyanos !!!
      Best regards,

The phosphate level released from #1 is 0.66, which is quite high, maybe it is the fingerprint on the test sample (glass bottle)?

        Zeolite reactor flow test method:
Using a small container, collect the reactor outlet for 30 seconds and the volume x120, so that you can get a continuous flow per hour. (Please also post the actual level)

Try to answer the following questions, so that we can better understand the information about your tank, this is better

        1. What is the quality of Ro/di? (Tds). Is resin material used as the last channel of the filter?

        2. What is the quantity of fish, how is the feeding situation, and what is the feeding method?

3.In addition to your description of coral whitening and Cyano issues, I have additional questions. Are corals all healthy now?((Please also pay special attention to the rapid swing of nutritional levels, which may cause coral TN))

4.What is the activated carbon brand? What is the way to use

yes use resin - Tds 0

          2. What is the quantity of fish, how is the feeding situation, and what is the feeding method?

23 Fish - Tree times a day (mysis, brine shrimp, redplacton, nori. + ocean nutrition)

The soft corals are fine, the sps I already had are more or less, when I put new sps whiten from one day to the next, this has been happening for a few months now.
I have not had parameter variations (KH Director)

4.What is the activated carbon brand? What is the way to use

Not sure about the total net water volume of your system bit it might be ~ 1200 liters as you use 3 liters ZeoVit. For this ZeoVit quantity the reactor flow is to low if you not have recently started ZeoVit. It should be ~ 1200 liters per hour.

If you increase the flow make sure to do this in two steps slowly over the next 2 weeks.

              Good Morning
I don't know if I understood correctly, so I measured 30 seconds the flow that gave 5 lt, multiplied by 120 that gives 600, that's it !!
I'll have to buy a new pump.

Thank you for the additional information, really helpful.

I would recommend you to continue as follows:

Increase the ZeoVit quantity to 3.75 liters while the next exchange. Additional increase the reactor flow two weeks later to ~ 1500 liters per hour or ~ 12.5 liters for 30 seconds. Increase the flow in two steps.

                  Continue dosing as follows:

                  ZeoStart – 1.5 ml 2 x daily (total 3 ml / day)
                  ZeoBac – 15 drops 2 x weekly
SpongePower – 15 drops every other day
BioMate – 30 drops every other day
                  ZeoZym – 2 spoons 2 x weekly

As cyano treatment mix 30 ml CoralSnow with 15 dorps CyanoClean and dose this mixture once daily for one week.

Skip dosing ZeoFood at the moment.

                    Thanks Alexandre

I will then do as you tell me.
How long should I follow this scheme?
When things get better, should I go back to the dosing schedule I had ??

                    Thank you

                    Best regards,

Please post a update in about 2 weeks or whenever it is necessary. The time range does depend to the actual nutrient situation.

                          Good morning Alexander

I have been doing the dosages as you have indicated as well as the increase in zeolites and flow.
                          I was measuring the parameters yesterday and these were the results: No3 = 0 PO4 = 0.03
I think you're on the right track.
Should I continue with the same dosages ?? or I change the dosages, if so what would be the best scheme for me.
Thanks a lot for the help.
                          Best regards,
