  • My SPS did not have Polyp extension

They used to open up. But for the past couple day, i did not have any polyp extension. I test my water, everything is fine. Could it be the Kh swing the other day. It was 6.2 so i crank it up to 8.3 and drop down to 7.7. What can i do to get my corals back to normal. I just change new zeolith couple days ago.
    I'm a quiter..... But i'm back now....

IMO keep the kh stable as possible, refer to the zeo user guide for proper kh levels. IME kh fluctuation is a big shocker for sps.

My Kh has been Stable for the past 4 days at 7.7. and my Ca is at 390. I think Seachem is the best compare to any other salt. I used to do the tropic marine salt mix and my Ca, Kh and Mg always high. I think another' reason for my corals to stress cuz i just rearrange my LR on friday night. May be i stir up something they aren't too happy with.

Each time when something like this happened you should ask yourself what did you do in past days what could provoke ssuch reactions of corals.

KH fluctuations in -/+ 2 can't be reason for closed polyps.

Do you have layer of sand on bottom of tank?
And did you mix sand when you rearrange your LR?
I would measure level of ammonium, nitrate and phosphate.
IMO with mixing sand you let some of those waste products to get in water in higher quantities than usual.
If tank levels for ammonium, nitrate and phosphate are higher you should change part of tank water.
Using of activated carbon would help to remove other waste products form water and helps to improve water conditions.

Thanks Dejan. Actually i did stir up the sand really good. I know the ammonia will spike as well the nitrite and phospate. It is getting better now.

Hmmm... This is really bad habbit.. :cursin:
If you want to do that right you had to siphon sand with water out of tank in buccket, then wash sand in that bucket and return sand back to the bottom of tank. Missing water in tank should be replaced with new mixed salt water.

?? Why do you want to have clean or white sand ?? Have you been on any natural reef? White sand is only on beaches...
Maybe you should get some fish which will dig and mix your sand instead of you?
Or get very strong pumps to produce so strong water movements that sand wil mix all the time and you will have self cleanning function.

I think you misunderstand. I try to take out the sand. Because don't want to have too much sand in my tank. I just want to leave a thin layer of sand and that is it. I have approx 100lbs of sand in the tank. I did siphon the sand out to the bucket. I stir up the sand because i have to rearrange my rock

Now I understand.. still you had to do that in steps. Not whole quantity at once..

                    But..

I have hear some guy just mix sand at the bottom (after few months) and next day all fishes die..

                    You should be more careful...
