    Any recomendations while i fire my 80 watt UV

    I have a parisite thats a plague, and hurting my fish. Dont like hosp tanks they stress out more fish than help.
    I am fireing up old betsie,(80 watt monster UV) and was wondering if i should stop dosing while doing so.

    180 mixed reef, extreme 40gal frag tank, 33 gal sump,30 gal fuge, profilux plus II controller,profilux doser, GEO 618 CA/RX tunze 6100's, BK 250 internal, 2 400watt halides, 4 blue plus t-5's on icecap ballast, I run GFO, and dose vodka,sugar, and vinigar with ammino acids, and use somewhat of the balling method.

    I would recommend to continue dosage. However elements and bacteria could be destroyed before they are absorbed or attached to a surface.

    UV should not cause a problem if used for a period of 2 weeks or so but you should not run it for a longer period.

      Thanks its a big UV i dont think i will need to leave on longer than 2 weeks.
      Actually now i think its a bac problem, and i think maybe the zeo is fueling it.
      Could that happen?

        Hi Alex, no, the Zeo-products are not the cause or the fuel for fish parasites. Do you have a sand-bed & recently been stirring it up in a attempt for the ZEOvit to explore nutrients? Also, big changes in your parameters[especially KH] right before beginning ZEOvit should be considered a viable causation as our fish are suspectible to secondary invaders when the immune system is distrupted, or stressed.             Thanks i hope its not too late. I have not lost one fish in the 3 yrs a ran a uv, Nor have i had to teat one. Now that i have it offline i lose more fish than i have in 20 yrs of fishkeeping.
            Its glowing and has a new bulbs. Burn bastards BURN!
