  • Recommended Dosing for 450litre (net) LPS tank?

    Hi everybody,

Can somebody please give me a nice detailed dosing scheme for a 450litre (this is after LR displacement etc) LPS tank.

    Components at hand are:
    ZEOvit media
    ZEOfood 7
    ZEObak
    ZEOstart
LPS & Soft Coral Amino Acids.

The client has started has tank with half doses of everything as per the manual with half a litre of ZEOvit media in a Regal Projects ZEOrx. His parameters are all in check (PH=8.2, CA= 420ppm, Salinity= 1.024, Nitrate = 5ppm, Nitrite=0, Mag= 3500ppm, phosphate=not checked).

Tank has been up and running for around 18months now and contains only one SPS aquacultured frag (millepora sp.) the rest consists of 40% soft corals and the balance is LPS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Hi Cerven, in a LPS/soft coral reef, the lowering of nutrients is not an absolute & I suspect the 50% dosing scheme has worked well for him. Is there unhappiness with his reef at this point? Are the corals doing well? Thnx. & good to see you here Bob

              Hi Bob,

This reefer has only just started ZEOvit on his system (delivered everything to him on Saturday). I recommended he start with everything at half dose and then work his way upto to the recommended dosing for his tank. I've also explained to him that his tank will let him know if he doses too much etc. The tank is in very good shape although it is slowly recovering from a CO2 'explosion' which has led to some unwanted algae and diatom growth. What I was hoping to get from you guys was recommended dosing scheme for his system. Your help would be appreciated.

Sorry I haven't been around much here on zeovit.com, I have been very very busy with life, getting ready to move from South Africa to the UK :smash: , and I can't wait.

Thnx. Cerven for the reply & good luck with your move. Actually, as I mentioned above, I agree entirely with your instructions & would advise him to post here if he has any particular questions/opinions & experiences regarding his reef or progress with the ZEOvit method.

Cerven, when will the move occur & where in England will you locate? Thnx. Bob
