  • What to do next....

This sunday will be the end of my first 2 weeks... so now what. I have been dosing 1ml of Start2 2times daily, Zeobac,Zeofood 10 drops each 1 time a day. I clean my "rocks" twice a day. So what now...

Also for what it is worth, I have one colony of acro that has very purple tips with yellow branches. I am noticing that the purple is "slightly" faded. Is this really possible? I have looked at a pic I took 2 weeks ago just to confirm, and although not alot, it is lighter in intensity. Any Ideas?

Thanks all for your time and advice,
    Iffer

Hi Iffer, after the 1st 2wks. of seeding & feeding our strains, the Bak & Food7 are just dosed 2x's/wk for the remainder of the 6wk. period[4 more wks].

    What's your P04's now?
Are you dosing AAHC & C-V?

    Thnx. Bob

      Bob,

I don't have a Hanna tester yet, so I am not sure how close the test kit really is to the real P04. The crummy kit reads at 025. I am not dosing anything else at this time. Should I be? The stuff I am dosing is what they told me I should have to start this process, so any imput would be welcome!

        Ifferfish,

I am no means a "ZeoMaster" and I was in the same boat as you were about a year ago. If I can give any advise it is......take it slow! Only bad things happen quick in this hobby! My SPS lightened up and dulled during the first four months and held that color up until recently when I started dosing other supplements. My PO4 readings are consistantly 0 with my Hanna PO4 meter. Stay the course and before you know it you will be giving the same advise a year from now

Excellent advise, Jim, thnx. With a advent of C-V & a special new element added to AAHC for improved growth & color without dulling, K-Z now recommends to all new users to dose AAHC & C-V, as a energy source for our corals while reef nutrients are being reduced. Iffer, for your system, dose 6 drops AAHC & 15 drops C-V daily directly into the display. As with dosing all zeo-supplements, the skimmer does not need to be turned off Bob

Thanks Bob and Jim. I am not in any rush, just want to make sure that I stay on track. Since I do not have the 2 additives that you mentioned, I quess it is time to go shopping! Anything else that I should look for, that would indicate good or bad? I am always looking to avoid anything bad that someone else has done or had happen to them. I would like this to go as smoothly as possible. Just don't want to go backward with the colors, they were the whole reason I looked into this...

One other question. They gave me a bottle of Iron Concentrate at MACNA because I mentioned that I was dosing Lugals. Should I be dosing it now. I have not been, trying to stay with the plan....

I can't seem to find the C-V listed anywhere. What does it stand for ? Also what sizes does it come in and for how much per size? Thanks to whomever gets back to me!

Hi Iffer, how do your coral colors appear? AAHC & C-V will definitely make a color & health difference & I recommend using those two now. After another zeolite exchange or two, I'll be recommending PIF[potassium-iodide-flouride] which accentuates blues, purples & violets in our Acroporas & Fe[iron] which enhances greens, yellows, & reds. These zeo-supplements are much more effective with color enhancement in mid to later Phase 2, as nutrients become poor. Bob

Where do I find the C-V. I am looking for price and quantity . Also, Do any of these expire other than the ZEObac. I would rather buy large and save some $$$.

Iffer, for example captiveoceans has it in the shop:

                      http://www.captiveoceans.com/mm5/mer...ZEOSupplements

It has a shelf life of about 6 month if kept refrigerated.

Sorry, Iffer for my short-cuts C-V= Coral-Vitalizer. This stuff as all the zeo-products is amazing Bob

Hi Iffer, yes, dosing is now 2x's/wk for Bak/Food7 until the next zeolite exchange.

ZeoStart2 is dosed daily, everyday. How are you doing in general with your reeftank? Bob
