  • Made some major changes to my dosing.

Since rebuilding my tank about 2 months ago I have had some major issues with algae and the tank just not looking right. My acropora has browned and the tank overall isn't so pretty. So two days ago I decided to go back to the zeovit guide and change my dosing.

    I was dosing:

1 drop of zeofood on Mon. Weds. Fri.
1 drop of zeobac on Mon. Weds. Fri.
    3 drops of zeostart everyday

    I am now dosing:

    1st two weeks:

    1 drop of zeofood everyday
    1 drop of zeobac everyday
    .4 ml of zeostart everyday

    Next 4 weeks:

1 drop of zeofood every Mon. Weds. Fri.
1 drop of zeobac every Mon. Weds. Fri.
    .2 ml of zeostart everyday

After my next zeolith change for the first two weeks I will cut the zeofood and zeobac dosing back to everyother day.

Hopefully this will help kill the algae and remove the nutrients a bit faster. I have also recently purchased a RO/DI unit because the water I was using had 13ppm according to my TDS meter which is way too high. I am waiting to recieve the RO/DI unit in the mail and cannot wait for this to help me.

I also have zeo potassium, iodine, spur2, coral vital, macroelements, amino's. Should I continue to dose them at this time or should I hold off for awhile?

    Hi Brad.

I just re-assessed my dosing a few weeks ago. Things seem to be doing very well. Coloring up nicely.

I don't need to tell you, but keep a close eye on things when changing your start doseage. Even a tiny difference causes big changes in my tank. Good luck with the new regime.

Hi Brad, you plan looks good Until nutrients are under better control, hold all zeo-supplements except C-V & dose it at 2-3 drops/25g net/day. Bob

        Hey Bob,

Sounds good, I have 42 gallons including the sump so maybe 5 drops per day of CV?

That's fine, Brad, as C-V will actually help lower your nutrients by way of being a nutritional source for our corals & zeo-bacteria Bob
