Hi Simon, thnx. for your inquiry ZeoStart2 is a superb carbon source for the specialized zeo-bacteria, along with the use specific zeolites, resulting in a even reduction of nutrients. This is as easy as one-two-three in determining the zeo-dosages. With the use of unknown Prodibio bacteria & their food source[booster], we can not give specific dosing recommendations for ZeoStart2. I'd suggest you contact Iwan privately, to help with your dosing quantity. Bob

Many thanks Bob - I'll report Iwan's recomendations when I get them if you dont mind - I feel ever so slightly guilty at being a partial zeo user on this forum : hehe

Simon, no need to feel guilty here. This is a reef forum with the main aspect being zeovit but not a requirment at all. Glad you are here.

For inforamation: Iwans recomendation for ZS2 with Prodibio bac is:

            "I dose Zeostart2 1 ml on 100 l of water daily.
The product supports the bacterium populations in the growth."

Rememeber before we had the www? - Info sharing was so slow - we'd still be figuring out how to optimise reverse flow bypass undergravel filters, by typed letter, copied on carbon paper. My children will think this is a quaint old story like B&W TV. hehe

YIKES! ... I'm flashing back to the days when "glass wool" was a necessary mechanical filtration medium, MetaFrame was the largest North American distributor of aquarium products, Nectonics produced "state of the art" saltwater test kits, and Tropical Fish Hobbyist magazine was the best source of hobbyist-level "saltwater information" in the English-speaking world ...

... and some people say there's no such thing as "evolution" ... ...

Hehe you were lucky with TFH - we had the 'Aquarist and Pondkeeper' specialising in black molly breading and the occassional picture of a Lion Fish boasting survival rates of 9 months tops.

My very first filter was a little plactic triagular corner box with glass wool run by a noisy air pump was great for keeping hair aglae though I used to hanker after a fluval canister filter - saved and saved -

Funily enough this stuff is still being sold over here :crap:
