  • Green millie

A friend gave me a colony of wild green millie last week. When i pick them up, it is in a very bad shape. It is more like a brown millie. Anyway, after a week in my tank, part of it turning white (dead). But everything else in my tank doing great but that damn wild, half dead colony. What can i do to safe them?

I don't see why not. I know you can't take pix anyway. Remind me the cutter next time you see me

It is spreading fast too. I already chop the dead part off and it is still proceed into the healthy part. Is it going to affect other SPS?

You only have a chance to save a part of the coral if you cut it about 1.5 inch in the healthy part. Spreading to other corals is possible but personally I have never observed it. I would cut it again to see of you can save a peace and glue it with supergel on a fresh piece of rock.

              Good luck !

I will take out that millie and trash it today. It doesn't look too well. How come when i add the Spur2, everything turning into a lighter color? Is it normal?

Steve, that's what correct doses of Spur2 do--they decrease zoox. density, which in turn lightens our corals. If the lightening effect lasts > 1wk., then reduce the dosage by 1ml in 2wks, when it's due to be dosed again. Bob

thanks bob. Jeff told me not to dose my tank for the next 7 days. Which i think he is right (i may overdose my tank). Did someone say drugs abuse? I will stop dosing for the next 7 day and start them frest again.
