  • Some Pix from tonight

I added some stuff so I decided to take a few pix.

Tiny little Gigas and Derasa. Snacks? Or survivors?

Blurry Pix of a dragon pipe

    Mitratus. I couldn't resist.

    Looks good there Chuck!

How are the Mitratus and the other butterflies getting along?

    is the Mitratus "reef safe".

how are the corals doing that you put in there awhile ago?

any SPS in there yet, haha.

No sps. The zoos don't look good, but I haven't seen anyone obviously eating 'em. The xenia looks good sometimes, looks terrible other times and I can't explain it. The shrooms are fine. The GSP fragment took a beating from falling, getting caught in the closed loop etc.... Again, noone obviously eating 'em.

The smaller Tinkeri harassed it for about 3 hrs and then all of the sudden got bored and stopped. The Mitratus already ate mysis.

Mitratus and Tinkeri and their relatives are all putatively deepwater planktinovores and therefore POTENTIALLY reefsafe.

Awesome! On my short list when my new tank is established is a couple types of filefish or pipefish or whatever they're called. (i promise to do the research necessary before i buy lol)

          Sounds good Chuck.

          hope the clams make it.

did you find a source for the crosshatch trigger pair? or no?

Oh the RDs are fine now. There was something wrong with that other one.

                hi moonpod,

nice pipefish. is that a goldflake angel in the first pic? he looks very interested at those yummy tasty clams. my regal angel hammered my gigas for a few days after i added the clam to such an extent that it lost half its overlapping mantel (big bite marks everywhere). he lost interest shortly after and the clam made a full recovery.

Yeah, goldflake. I guess I'll find out when I come home today whether or not the clams made it....

Hi Chuck, after attacking my croceas for the 1st two days, I hit on "Angel Formula" then he[she] immediately began eating flake food & since has left those clams alone, although he'll occasionaly nip at my Pocillopora, which probably caught some floating sm. food particles in the feeding process. what are you feeding your pipefish ? and is it ok to add it to a zeovit system ?

my pipes are eating whatever they find, cyclopseeze and I've even seen one take down a mysis once.

                          I don't use zeo so....beats me.

You know Bob, I like the trigger formula better than the angel. That gel binder or whatever they use for the angel seems to make it "tougher" and less "bitable" or whatever for the fish.

Isn't this tank brand spanking new? That sure is a lot of coralline algae in a very short time
