      Hey Bill,

Bob will be here to tell you what to dose.

all i can tell you is you wont be needing that PO4 reactor the Kent reactor w/ rowa phos. you wont need it. zeo will take care of that for you.

also you wont need "50 watts quartz output" this either. you dont want to use a UV in a zeo tank. it will kill the bacteria that zeo is based on. same goes from ozone.

      my one piece of advice,

you wont see results over night. it will take awhile for you to see them. GOOD news is that with this system you can safely add SPS and other corals as soon as 4-8 weeks into the new tank. gqjeff added SPS i think at 6 weeks with no harmful effects.

also this is a MUST read for any new zeo user

      http://www.captiveoceans.com/pdfs/ZEOvitGuide1.pdf

make sure you understand it completely. and i mean real well.

also you will only want to dose the "basic 4" until you have reached low nutrients. so the good news is you dont need the other supplements like AAs, CV, K-balance, Fe, PFI, and so on now. just the zeoliths (rocks) go in the reactor, start2, bak, food7.

you wont be sorry if you are patient and use the system to its full potential. give it a good 6 months to a year and you will be real happy with your color and growth.

forgot to add with using zeo and t5s you will see great results becasue your water will be extra clean and those t5s will be able to work to their full potential.

Nick has a point (someone slap me though because he has a point )

The Ozone is not needed with this and neither is the UV. If you look at ZEO tanks compared to others very few have the sustainable (that is the operative word here) coloration and growth that can be realized with the Zeovit system.

I tried it and I convinced myself Bill, No one else had to. It just took a few pictures of before and after to let me know where the color meets the coral!! Plus I am close and so is Nick so we can all help one another along with the great support you will get from fellow Zeo users all over the world!!

You might even learn German or French here because this site is International!!

Seriously guys (Mike and Bill) you will not be sorry.

The key here and Bob will also say this is to watch your corals, meaning watch the color.

you will learn over time atleast i have what to dose and what not to dose inorder to get the colors you want.

Just come over and take a look at the colors i am getting! I just picked up a frag of true echinta from Wayne "waynesreef". and it is already turning into a nice piece after only a week in my system.

i think another essiental tool is a Hanna Colormeter for PO4 it allows you to be accurate on your start2 dose and get the PO4 to "0". then you use the supplements, Coral Vitalizer (so far the best on IME), AAHC, Fe, PFI, and K-balance.

i am using all of them except the k-balance should be here at the end of this week.

you can do some many things with this system its amazing.

you and Mike should come down one day (i think Mike is planning on it in the next week or 2) and see it with your own eyes.

i cannot argue with the results i have gotten.

I remember that from before if you are getting to light to fast then reduce teh start dose

                Haha too funny.

also a key that some over look,

make sure to "seed" your new zeoliths when you change them out with 5% old zeoliths.

so 95% new zeoliths and 5% old zeoliths.

just alittle tip for you that some forget to do.

and make sure you have the correct GPH going through the reactor. meaning 100gph per liter.

what i do is take a cleaned out milk jug and time how long it takes then divide by 3600 to get GPH.

Hi Bill, welcome to ZEOvit.com & congratulations on beginning a wonderful method of keeping SPS It's easy to follow, & it's works extrememly wellAs Nick & Mike have mentioned, there are some "don'ts" when using ZEOvit method. Do read the ZEOvit guide & don't be afraid to ask any questions, as each one of us originally were in your position. Do cure the ceramic pieces as if LR. For your system I recommend the following:

1)place 3/4 ltr. carbon in a filter sock, passively, in a low flow area of your sump. I highly recommend using the K-Z carbon, as I've found it more beneficial for SPS color than B-D or Kent's[JME]. Knead the carbon bag 3x's/wk & exchange monthly.
2)place 2 ltrs. zeolites in a zeo-reactor with the flow rate of 200gph. A little more or less is fine. Cycle the stones on & off at 3hr. intervals[a simple "peg" timer is fine], being sure the stones remain submerged when the reactor is not operating. A inline check-valve to your reactor may be necessary to prevent back-siphoning when the pump is off. Handle pump the stones when the pump is "on" 1-2x's/day, about 10 reps each time. This keeps the stone surfaces clean while releasing nourishing mulm for our corals. Exchange the zeolites every 6wks.
3)dose 8 drops Bak/Food daily for the 1st 2wks, then dose 8 drops each 2x's/wk. Dose these along with Start2 in front of the zeo-filter when it's "on" & turn off your skimmer for 60min after dosing Bak & Food. It is not necessary to turn off your skimmer when just dosing Start2.
                  4)dose 1ml Start2 2x's/day daily.
5)after coral placement begins, consider dosing 5 drops AAHC & 15 drops C-V daily directly into your display tank. These supplements help our corals with their energy needs as nutrients within our tank are being lowered.
                  6)again ask any questions, Bob

Thanks Aged Salt. What would you then reccomend me purchasing for the first three months of operation. I already have the reactor taken care of.

Bill just contact a supplier, Madison/Scott/Gary any of those guys can hook you up with what you need.

just explain to one of them the size of your tank. give them the instructions that Bob (Aged Salt) gave you and they can certainly tell you what to get for the first 3 months.

so you figure for 3 months you will do 2 changes of the zeoltihs, so this is what i would suggest,

                        4 bags of zeoliths
                        1 bottle of start2
                        1 bottle of food7
2 small bottles of bak (this is the one supplement that can go bad, but takes 3 months i think)
                        *2-3 bags of their carbon

*please note you do not have to use there carbon, but i find i like it better than Black Diamond even. Like Bob i have noticed better coloration with this carbon compared to others......

your reactor has a check valve in it also so no worries about the stonies being exposed.

after you get established with the system you may want to pick up

                        1 bottle of Coral Vitalizer
                        1 bottle of AAHC
                        1 bottle of Fe
                        1 bottle of PFI
                        1 bottle of K-balance

the above are ONLY after you reach low nutrients ie. PO4 low (i target 0.00 on the Hanna colormeter).

*please put the bak and Coral Vitalizer in the fridge also

i think you will see results in about 4-8 months Bill. Atleast thats when i started to really notice the color of my SPS "pop".

another tip i have found the Hanna a great tool in determing the right Start2 dose.

Talk with Mike about this maybe you can get a group buy going over on MR have Madison organize it. they are really useful.

i think that sums it up, Bob did i miss anything?

Excellent Nick. I'd add Bill besides the basics, begin using AAHC & C-V when coral animals are introduced to your reef. Bob

This is an Aquatic Acrylics Skimmer. Each one is custom built for the individual customers needs. The gentleman that makes these goes by Spazz on RC & Michigan Reefers. Mine is a 10x24" chamber. The skimmer has a wet neck, a twist lock cup, CNCed flanges, flow gauges, adjustable air, and waterflow. The skimmer has space for another pump, and w/ the flanges I can add additional section to the chamber. This leaves me room for future expansion. He is currently working on a new skimmer for 1000 gallon+ systems; uses a needlewheedled sequence dart and is force feed air in order to keep up. The guy that turned me on to this company has a 12x60" chamber on his mammoth skimmer.
