  • Going low nutrients - advice?

I am currently a non-zeo user (not against it, just not enough spare time to dedicate to it at the moment) with a barebottom high flow, high light, SPS tank.

I am "converting" my system to low nutrients, I have reduced the amount of dropped fish food in the past few weeks and now I will start removing some unwanted fish. I am planning to keep only a few small fish at the end.

Any recommendations to avoid losing SPSs or any other issues in this process?

    TIA.

Hi Armando, probably the trick will SPS is parameters being maintained within narrow ranges with a dosing meter feeding into a Ca Rx. Bob

Hi Armando, do you use a Ca Reactor to supply Ca & KH to your reef? Or do you use 2-part solutions? Thnx. Bob

          I use a calcium reactor.

A dosing meterized infusion[dosing meter] into the Ca Rx will be consistent time after time, allowing stable Ca/Mg/KH which will be necessary for the long-term health of your SPS. Bob
