I test my calcium earlier after the water change and my level is at 480. I am using reeftek calcium reactor. By the way i use tropic marin salt. Are there better salt beside tropic marine.

Reefrookie, test the freshly mix saltwater that you use for water-changes. I think the CA will be in the low 400s. You can do water changes to bring down the CA levels slowly. Any idea why it got so high in the first place? Whats the KH you are running your reef at?Farish

first thing you need to do is unplug the reactor like someone said above.
you should not be running the alk that high if you are running zeo which i think you are. the guidelines say to run alk no higher thank 8 dkh and calcium no higher than 420ppm.
so unplug the reactor wait a day or 2 and test again.
how are you running your reactor? ie, effluent, bubble rate and so on.
also it is critical in my mind atleast to test alk atleast a couple times a week. when you get it set you might (might be the key word here) get by with once a week testing.
think about it, 20 bucks for a test kit or your corals STNing on you because of high dkh values. some people have noted TNing with higher dkh values, ie. greater than 8.
i run 8dkh and 418ish ppm for calcium.
i test every 3-5 days.

I was just playing with my friend. I spent more time with my tank than with my family. Thanks for the advice. I am working on getting my calcium reactor to run right. I test my calcium earlier. it is at 440. just some minor adjust i expect the process to be a little longer. My calcium level use to be above 500 and Mg is 1500 and KH is at 12. After 7 weeks of Zeovit my level now is at Ca 440, Mg 1320 and KH 9.3 I know i need to drop the KH lower. I am working on it.I'm a quiter..... But i'm back now....Comment

I just turn off my Ca reactor lastnight and start from scratch. According to the instruction, I should turn off my feeding pump and set the bubble counter at 30 per min for 24 hours, turn on the feeding pump and test the Ph. I need to keep my Ph at 6.6. Now i know why all the educated folks are so successful.I'm a quiter..... But i'm back now....Comment
