getting ready need advice

Hi All

I little while back I had posted about getting new tank and starting zeo.Well the upgrade has been put on hold since the new baby is coming for now,If it does come about it will be about a yr.So here is my info so you all can help me on what I need to order and how much I should dose.

There are sps and lps in here with a few soft corals the tank is about 3 yrs old.

1.Gross water volume of your complete system (incl. sump etc.)
200 gallons with sump(125tank,75 gallon sump)

2. Net water volume (incl. sump etc.)
I would think with all my rock I have around 125 to 150(alot of rock in the sump)

3. Are you using a CaCO2 reactor or other technique
yes I use a coral life reactor up to 500 gallons(bought for the upgrade)

4. Are you using a PO4 reactor (how long, how long ago, etc.)

5. Are you using Ozone
no

6. Are you using UV

7. What skimmer are you using (type, rated water volume)
asm g4x rated at 450 gallons

8. What are your actual PO4 and NO3 levels
po4 n/a n03 is 20ppm

9. What are your actual Ca, Alk and Mg levels
ca 440 alk 300ppm mg 1300ppm

10. What filtration method do you use (refugium, DSB, Miracle Mud, etc.)
dsb,sump with micro

11. Type of light (Watt, color temp, how old, etc.)
3 250 watt m/h 14k 3months old

12. What corals do you keep
lps,sps,soft

13. Tissue color (light or dark)
lps are light,most sps are brown

14. How long has the tank been running
3 years

15. Why do you want to use the ZEOvit system
to improve my sps corals to be able to keep the really nice sps and to give them the best water to live in

16. Any supplemental dosing (type, amount, why, etc.)
only coral food

17. Live rock (how much, how old, etc.)
205 to 222 3 yrs old ,base and fiji

18. Any present problems
just never can get no3 to zero

This is my second try at a reef tank.I had one about 9 yrs ago but I never could keep any corals.This time I can keep just about anything but the highend sps they always rtn on me.So Any help would be great

Hi Ron, you'll have success with ZEOvit method if one follows the steps outlined with this system, you'll be able to not only keep "high-end" SPS but keep their coloration The key to keeping SPS is stable, NSW level parameters & the ZEOvit method. The parms should fall within: Ca>400<450/Mg>1200<1400/KH 6-8 & narrowly stable/salinity 1.023-.026, & narrowly stable. For your system, remember you have alot of nutrients in-house that will take a few months of ZEOvit to deplete, therefore, patience will be key also. I recommend the following:

1)place 1 1/4 Cup K-Z carbon in a filter sock, passively, in your sump. Knead this sock 3x's/wk & exchange monthly.
2)place 1 1/4 ltrs. zeolites in a zeo-filter at a flow rate of ~ 125gph. A little more or less is fine. Cycle the stones on & off at 3hr. intervals, being careful the stones remain submerged when the filter is "off". A zeo-filter inline check valve may be needed to prevent back-siphoning of the filter when it is not operating. Handle-pump the zeolites 1-3 x's/day about 5-10 reps each time. Exchange the zeolites every 6wks.
3)dose 5 drops Bak/Food7 daily for 2wks. then 5 drops each 2x's/wk. Turn off your skimmer for 60min after dosing these. Dose Bak/Food/Start2 near the zeo-filter pump when it is "on". ZeoBak is refrigerated.[as is Coral-Vitalizer]
4)dose Start2 .5ml 3x's/day[1.5ml total/day]. It is not necessary to turn off the skimmer when just dosing Start2.
5)optional but recommended:dose 3 drops AAHC & 12 drops C-V daily into your display tank. Your skimmer may remain running.
