  • Penny and saltwater?

I was doing some cleaning today and found a penny in the container I make saltwater in. It looked like it had been there a while. Should I be worried? I cleaned the container with water and vinegar. The only problems I have had are that I lost both of my clams a couple days apart 2-3 weeks ago. Should I get some of that copper remover media and run in my tank?
    Thanks

Not sure, Paul.... But just to be sure you may want to consider a little heavier water change schedule....

I'd start testing for copper to get an idea where your tank stands.

I can do the water changes, but since I dont have a copper test that will have to wait.

          Did the penny turn green?

That's good, when copper oxidizes it becomes green. I'd use some extra carbon and do a water change to be sure though

Or maybe it's not good, pennies are copper plated zinc. If it's black then maybe all the copper has been oxidized already
