  • help id this thing

    hey all

    need some help to id this little thing over night i have been invaded by these small little white puffs. i cant take a picture atm cause the battery is flat and my sis miss placed the camera but place they like an oval shape body with 1 mouth that has like a duster that comes out i guess they a plankton but i want to know if they be a threat later on or something ?

    I don't think I know a tank that doesn't have them :p

          I think I know exactly what he means but forgot what they're called. Those little white pear shaped things (sessile snails?) that live in overflows and on underside of rocks and you scratch your fingers on if you aren't careful...

            Just remembered Vermetid snails is what they're called!

              they scratch ? they feel very soft like ... sponges >< ... so are these things safe ? and bad effects ?

                just had a look at Vermetid snails and they not them they look like ('') i guess u could say lol and they soft ...

                    wooo i finally found the buggers

                    You may have a small species of sponge, probably Leucilla,Leucandra, Scypha = Sycon, or Clathrina. These small sponges are often missed in nature due to their small size, but they are usually seen in our small glass boxes. They are taxonomically found in Class: Calcarea.
