  • Bright Green Slime...

This stuff is getting to me. Looks like red slime... but it's green. Blows off with some extra current. Collects and releases bubbles. But it still prevails in more current than I'd want an acro in front of.

The problem is not zeo related since I have it in both Zeo and non-Zeo tanks.

PO4's in both are well within reason and a Salifert nitrate kit comes out as clear as could be. I've never had this problem and all I can think of is somethings not be removed by the RO/DI even though it shows zero TDS.

Steve, is it prevalent in one tank system over the other? Bob

It's beginning to show up more all the time in the non-zeo system but right now it's worse in the big system with zeo. Since it's showing in the non-ZEO system I'm sure it's not related to ZEO. No other algae issues anywhere, any kind. I even beat the red HA.

I thought it might be a old bulb problem but after chaning out 2-250w SE Radiums that tank (part of the big system) got worse.

Hi Steve, good post on the lights as that was in the back of my mind. If you're dosing AAHC, AAHC, in excess, will cause a neon-green flourescent film on the panes, rocks or sand. Bob
