  • Should I set up a frag grow out tank?

I cant decide if I want to add a frag tank to my system or not. I have an extra 250w pendent and a basment sump room so I sorta have the room. But will I even use it? I dont want to go into business or make money on frags. So if you have a frag tank tell me why you like or dislike yours.
    Thanks

I LOVE mine, and I don't even grow out frags

The reason is when I buy new colonies I just throw them in there and leave them there for a while until I have the time to figure out where I should place them in my tank. I don't know how crowded your tank is but if it is nearly full and you come home with 5 new colonies then you might have some major reshuffling to do and I usually don't feel like that after a day of shopping

Also serves as a semi-quarantine observation tank for peace of mind that the colony is healthy and hopefully pest free before putting it next to your prize specimens.

In other words if you have the room and equipment go for it because you will use the heck out of it!

+1 I sat go for it. Even if you dont actually use it to grow out frags it is just more room for those ohh so desireable corals we all want but have no more room for in our display!

Well I want to do it now. But when I called my friend with the tank I was going to use . I foud out he might not be selling it anymore. So if its available I will be doing it if not I guess I will have to wait. I should not have taken so long to decide.
